Boy George.
Seriously! regardless of his image, or how weird his image may have been, c'mon: you gotta admit he knows his musical stylings. I am thinking of "The Crying Game" specifically.
Maybe it's just me, but his voice on that song makes me swoon.[:I]

Yes, his voice did have sort of a distracting "squeak" before or after a note, but this improved over time. (Compare "True" with "Through the Barricades.")

The guy must be popular as hell. Almost 661,000 views and favourited 3040 times. Did you see the girls wiping the sweat of their foreheads about 1/2 way through. I don't want to think of what could cause that. Come to think of it, I did only see one hand wiping the sweat.[:0]

His name is Vitas and he is apparently very popular in Russia. You can look up more of his stuff on youtube. I find it quite fascinating. He is certainly talented, but a little bizarre (not that there's anything wrong with that!). There is debate about him being a castrati or a transgendered person. He denies it all. Curious stuff, huh? [;)]
Oh, and this should interest KYYX- he's "Latvian born".

I completely agree with everyone who has said:
Alison Moyet and Annie Lennox.
Also Annabel Lwin has very powerful and underrated vocals, remember she was only 14 when Bow Wow Wow were around and for such a young girl, I've always thought she had such control and power in her singing.

Marian Gold from Alphaville. Thing is, he's still incredible. You have to listen beyond Big In Japan and Forever Young.
Listen to the first track of that album, A Victory Of Love, or some of the material from their Prostitute album. It's a must hear for the idea of different styles, etc.
