After The Original Band

Postby TheMunDial » Fri Sep 07, 2007 9:33 am

You know, it happens: the original band splits, and a new band forms, spearheaded by a force from the OG band. Kind of like Joy Division turning into New Order, but not as mythological...

So what are some of your favorite "second lives" from the New Wave crop? It can be solo acts, as well.

Right now, I'm trying to track down the albums by Savoy, headed by the guitarist and lead songwriter of a-ha, Paul Waaktaar-Savoy. The albums are hard to come by since they were mostly kept in their native Norway.

So what are some of your faves? Arcadia? Electronic? Dave Gahan singing about paper monsters?
