Listening to this old tape from my friend, There's this one live track that sounds like U2 - Alarm territory.. it starts with slow ala' Clayton bass line and vocals were definately ala' Bono vox..
Well the lyrics on the chorus are:

Is it "Total Recall" by The Sound? Not sure on this--Thanks to Blir I'm just getting into these guys myself.

If that is the correct song (again, I hope someone more sure of this chimes in) allmusic has it listed in the "Heads and Hearts" lp

That Sounds right. I thought there were The Alarm? but they sound more like early U2.
