Is Department S in your collection?

I couldn't find any board discussion re this band. Somewhere along the way, I nicked Going Left Right and it's been on heavy rotation lately. Any band who issues Sub-Stance has got to be good, right?
Were they a legit band or just posers?

I liked them a lot. Three singles and an album made for a short-lived career. "Going Left Right" was a big favorite (I still have the 12 inch vinyl version) but "Is Vic There?" was great too.

Got the original Collection when it first came out and the b-sides are very good, 'She's Expecting You' is a cleverly written track. The rest are all right I suppose but nothing special.

Then a couple of years ago they released a new collection featuring demo tracks dropping the value of mine down to next to zero. [:(]
