unknown song from mix tape UPDATE!

unknown song from mix tape UPDATE!

Postby 909 » Sun Sep 23, 2007 2:15 am

I'm a dope. I uploaded the wrong song entirely (my first attempt at using Media Player to rip stuff - can't say I'm impressed)

Anyway, here's the song I'm trying to identify:
http://download.yousendit.com/9FF5B31310920554

I know what the first song that I posted is already. (shakes head in embarassment) because it's me....Or I should say, my old band, JN2B.

In my own defense, the two songs are right next to eachother on the tape, and I didn't listen to file again once I uploaded it. I only found out this morning that I'd screwed up when I got an email from an old friend I'd sent the link to in order to get his take on it as well. His response was something like, "Dude, are you serious?". My appologies to all. I certainly recognize my own stuff.

thanks,
[8]

[i]the quality of the recording's not so good. It's from a mix tape circa 1982 or '83

Hi,
The voice made me think of Marc Almond... But I can't find anything on the internet that would connect him with this this.
I think it's a GREAT song (I've been playing it all evening), I hope it will be identified!!

Thank you so much....I think I still have that record somewhere. They had a self-titled song too. The Daleks are a Doctor Who reference, aren't they?

Thanks very much. We tried lots of different styles over two albums, but couldn't find our niche, and by that point, I had found a different direction entirely (garage punk) and the other guys wanted to be poppier. Can't believe it's been 25 years since I wrote that song.
Here's a cleaner version from our first album.
