So simple a concept, but seemingly still above comprehension by some.
Honestly I think it's they just don't care of someone gets in trouble, if the site lives or dies or if the owner gets sued. Seems very selfish to me - all in the name of easy access to a song or a "scoop."
I'd much rather think of DJ Phoenix's post as an attempt to share a "scoop" he had found with a bunch of messageboard folks who he thought would be greatful for a chance to grab a new cd from a legendary new wave performer. In hindsight, it was wrechless and careless and shouldn't have been posted.
That being said, to make the leap that he is a guy who posted it with zero concern as to whether the board would be shut down or it's administators sued, is a bit of a stretch and a character assasination.
DJ Phoenix is a good member who had a lapse in judgement.

Oh please "character asassination?" A little less drama next time.

It has been made very clear in the past, time and time again, there is no posting of in-print materials. I assume a leaked new cd release is intended to be in print and falls under copyright laws. It's not hard to resist the impulse to post something like that, and anyone should know better.

I am not speaking about DJ Phoenix in particular, although this thread has made me try to figure out why, warning after warning people continue to do this. I have to chalk it up to "they just don't care who it hurts."

You CANNOT post music that is easily available for purchase. This cd will be released October 23.
Why not? aren't people putting the new DD up and that's "readily available for purchase" as well? I'm confused. Whether it's in complete form, or track by track, same thing, isn't it? MikeP already talked to me about it, no need to get yourself into a quandry, or to "stick it" to someone who meant no harm by posting it. No biggie, it was taken care of, no need to crucify someone who was just trying to hook folks up with some excellent music. FWIW, I honestly didn't know that there was such a rule, Now I do.

Thanks to all who said a nice word, I appreciate it. I love you guys and gals, and would NEVER do anything to hurt this place, or you. Just got it from a fellow DJ friend of mine, and thought that you'd all enjoy it. Didn't mean any harm by it, and didn't realize it would cause a stir, just got a "scoop" and thought you'd all appreciate it. Just so you know, despite the fact that it is apparently easily downloadable, I will be purchasing a copy of the cd regardless, b/c Im one who likes to have the artwork/liner notes, etc. Plus, I have it on good authority, there will be a 2 disc set released with bonus material and possible different cover. Make no mistake, I'm an 80s fan for life, and support ALL the arists from the decade, and will continue to buy the hard copy of cd's, as I'm a collector as well as a DJ. Again, I appreciate the kind words, means alot. Just know, I have you all at heart when i try to post something like this. MikeP is a good guy, and this site rocks!! Didn't realize it may cause a stir until he told me"bruddha, you can't do that stuff". I got the hint, thanks Mike.[:)]

There was even an animated Dr Seuss special on the topic. I think it was called "Horton Hears A Whoze".

huh? i was stating that your sentence rhymed. the end. any sudden defensiveness about your language skills is entirely your own.

really, what a ridiculous conclusion, no matter what level your english is at. and p.s.:
the use of "AMIGO," especially when you are obviously not fond of someone, is plainly passive-agressive, and any point you actually had to make is instantly disqualified.

oh and what book are you (sorry, "u") using to learn english? a text message manual? idk, u r uzin' da rong buk! lol! lol! lol!
just keeping it real, for the smart asses.

I don't want you to be confused. If you are asking me the question of "why not" do you want an answer or is Mikes explanation of why there is a problem posting a soon to be released cd track by track sufficient? I was in no way trying to "stick it" to you. (not sure what the hell you mean by that) I was not trying to embarrass you, just let you know that what you did was unacceptable here. You said you didn't know about the rule, fine. It's done. If you have any other questions about my post feel free to email me. No need to waste anymore space here.
