Almost-Perfect Songs

Postby birdmadgirl » Fri Oct 05, 2007 9:14 am

What are some almost-perfect songs for you? By this, I mean songs that you like--except for some small part that just doesn't fit.

I love "The Big Hand" by The Cure. I think it's one of the best songs they've done--BUT the cheesy synth fireworks are so out of place and silly. The rest of the song is beautiful and perfect...

I always thought that they could have cut one minute out of Blue Peters Don't Walk Past. Right in the middle, starting at minute 2 and ending at minute 3. Just my opinion.

I thought TFF's Shout has a very long ending. [:D]

Love the song, but "Uncertain Smile" has an ending that runs a wee bit too long.

Just thought of another one. The beginning and ending of Such A Shame by Talk Talk could both be cut in half.

Shout? What about Mother's Talk? It nearly ruins the song.

I really love "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others" by the Smiths except that the lyrics suck. Maybe that doesn't quite count, though.

"It Doesn't Have To Be This Way" by The Blow Monkeys. It's a great song, except for the rough ending where you hear some studio chatter (Dr. Robert saying "Uh-uh-uhh" and a female backup singer hits a note for second.) It should have been cut off. I have it set up to skip that part in iTunes.

"You're The Circus (I'm The Clown)" by Bruce Woolley And The Camera Club is perfect until there's about a minute left. After what would be a perfect synth fadeout, they tack on a few poorly sung lines and a horrid, out-of-place guitar solo. Kills me.
