$ 50K in a bag: what would you do?

Postby KYYX4ever » Sun Oct 07, 2007 2:53 am

I had read somewhere about a woman who found $ 65K in a bag and turned it all in to authorities.

Got me thinking what would you do if you found lots of $$ like that in a bag, say, on the street.

I'd keep it. If someone's dumb enough to lose a bag containing that much money (or any amount for that matter), fuck 'em ... they deserve to lose it.

I have to be honest: if there were no name in/on it, I'd keep it too. But a wallet? Or smthg w/ a person's name ? I would totally turn it in. I would want someone to do the same (if I lost my wallet).

Could you give me some more info on that story, it seems I misplaced my bag with about $65,000 in it.

I'd be terrified of being caught at it- you know, if there were hidden cameras or something. I'd probably take it home and sit on it for a few months. If no one came pounding on my door in official looking uniforms then I'd probably go out and buy shoes... LOTS of shoes...[:D]

That's just an awful lot of money to try to resist.[V]

Plus, you have to figure that 50k cash sitting in a bag is most likely drug money. I'd just soon use it for my own illegal purposes. [}:)]

Bag-keep it.
Wallet- I'll sleep on it.

True story?- friend of mine walks by a pay phone and sees a bag. Picks it up and looks inside. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Before he had time to run (which is what I would do yelling woooooooooo) A car pulls up on the sidewalk. Did you just find that?..............I need that would be mine and I need it alot more than you. It was clearly a mob bag man making his pick-ups from local stores. My friend almost shit. Oh and thanks for including me in the poll! I would do it myself with the $ if I found it!

Many years ago, a Brinks truck lost several bags of money on a local highway because the back door wasn't properly shut. (or something like that...I can't remember all the details now)They recovered most of the money because people were turning it back in. WTF???

At least a few people kept the cash...don't think anyone ever got caught either.

Me...I'd have it spent before I had a chance to think about what the right thing to do would be.

<p align="justify">I'd turn it in as well for similar reasons[}:)]

Thankfully, it'd be a cold day in hell before I stumble into something like that. This is something akin to having a really hot chick who is drunk coming onto me[}:)]

I would turn it in.

Knowing me, I'd probably end up having this absurd imagined story about how the money belongs to some old granny who needed it save her farm, or some poor dying guy who needed a kidney off the black market, or some music & arts after school program that raised it for its students' trip to perform before [insert political dictator] which in turn moves the entire country and brings an end to civil war...

Look. I saw Run Lola Run too many times. I'm just sayin'.
