Left Brain/Right Brain Test

Postby Frau_Blucher » Sun Oct 14, 2007 12:37 am

I saw this elsewhere on the net, and it's too good not to hijack. A "brainedness" test from this article:

http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0 ... 75,00.html

<img src="http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,5675247,00.gif">

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

For me, besides noticing the supple buoyancy and nice nipples, it's definitely counter-clockwise. I'm not bothered by this as I know I live my days being intensely left-brained, while my hunger for right-brained stuff at all other times is probably its polar consequence. I can get it to reverse, but it's oddly not by concentrating insomuch as trying not to think at all.

You?

Huh? [?] I am very much a left-brain person, but I can't see that she's moving anything but clockwise no matter how I try.

This from an Aussie paper. Is their definition of "anti-clockwise" some kind of Southern Hemisphere coriolis effect thing? [;)]

Hah! Funny.

Here's a trick - hit right-click on the gif to stop it. If you're seeing clockwise only, tell your brain that the leg sticking out is the left leg. When you hit left-click again and the image restarts, it should go counter-clockwise or vice versa.

Of course, by over-anal-izing it, I'm giving myself away there too!

I knew I saw this last week:

I always start out right side, then I blink my eyes a few times and left brain...

Funny, when I scroll down the page she's going counter-clockwise, if I go to the bottom of the page, and take my eyes off her, then scroll up she's going clockwise. Only for a few roatations though then my left side must take over.

Well, after playing with it for a few minutes - I finally saw her go anti-clockwise. That is after clicking on her a few times....but then back to clockwise. My brain must be at war with itself.

That means you are like the rest of us!

I'm with hexicon. I am VERY left brained and I only see it clockwise. Actually I'm very left and right brained. I use both about the same. So I am either bi-polar or I am a friggin genius! I am the next step in evolution!

She only goes clockwise for me. I can't make myself see her going the other direction.

Weird. She keeps switching direction for me, but only when I look away from the image for a sec.

edited to say: I should add that I'm kinda ambidextrous, so what does that tell ya. [;)]

Counter-clockwise only, no matter how hard I try. This doesn't surprise me in the least.
