[Stuck In The Eighties]

There's a movie out there that most of you probably don't know, because I think it really bombed at the box office.
It's called "Paradise" and it stars Don Johnson, Melanie Griffith, nad a very young Elijah Wood and Thora Birch (both around 11 or 12, i would guess).

Anyway, there is a scene in the attic where Griffith has a breakdown and blames herself for the earlier-death of their baby. It is super-emotional.

I cried while watching "Beaches," "Steel Magnolias," and at the end of the film "Cinema Paradiso" (aka: "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso") I cried my ass off like a newborn, as the older man, the former boy, comes back to his hometown, and is given the reel of on-screen kisses that the priest had cut out at his screening before the public saw the movie... If you have never seen this movie, it's a great movie!

Any movie that involes a beloved pet, and their adventures. Of course every one of those damn movies ends with the dog dying & I just get waaaaay too emotionally invested. I really hate that. I won't watch My Dog Skip, nor did I ever watch Meerkat Manor because I knew, inevitably something bad was going to happen...and man, did it ever.

Actually, the animal doesn't need to die at the end either - The Bear really jerked my chain too.

Also, the original Boris Karloff Fankenstein gets me every time. I don't see it as much as a horror movie, but an allegory to any outsider who was hated, picked on, ostracized for being different. As weird as it sounds, the line from Bride of Frankenstien "Hate living...Loved dead" just chokes me up. It sums up the whole series.
