Driving on the bridge of Santa Margarita I could see the entire outline of the Santiago Canyon fire. Along the way I was thinkin', "I'm glad I don't live in the boonies" - and, bam! There's a fire 10 miles away on the other side of the hill in Trabuco Canyon! If that shit gets to other side to the Cleveland Natl. Forest, we have the potential of being fucked. I have headache from the smell of burning wood[xx(]

Hey man[:D], I live in Rancho Santa Margarita and it was a close call on Tuesday and got within 2 miles of us. I took the pic below looking across our little artificial Lake Santa Margarita towards the opposite side of Trabuco Canyon.

I hope they get it under control before it gets over into Riverside county and now they've got the Feds involved because of the national forest -- hope they catch that bastard.

Oh yeah, the air quality is awful. Ashes littering the ground. I was actually glad to escape to my workplace in San Clemente which, honestly, isn't that much better.[V]

Marv, this needs a thread all by itself! Why is there a difference? Why don't the people of Cali shoot at rescue helicopters or loot the liqueur stores? It happened.

Well, Bush is visiting California ... hopefully he won't feel inclined to praise FEMA for aiding in the expeditious evacuation lots of rich white people.[xx(] The tireless efforts of the firefighters and local authorities deserve the praise.

people should use Cali as an example (in this emergency) because we will all face one sooner or later. When the towers fell on 9/11 they just closed Manhattan and those stuck there like my preggo wife had to figure things out by themselves.

whoa folks.

I knew the fruity liberals would start coming out of the woodwork. San Diego pulled itself up by its own bootstraps on this one. The Federal government does not need to babysit you.

there were alot of very common people that were displaced by this catastrophe.

not "lots of rich white people"

kneejerk bullshit.

I have Chargers tix for Sunday. The announcement will be made this afternoon about the Murph / the evacuees / etc.

I'll live without the game in light of other's predicaments.
I was so looking forward to seeing the cheerleaders in their cute Halloween costumes.

So is the opposite of "fruity liberal" a "vegetative conservative"?[:D]

Come on, of course people from all walks of life in San Diego county were displaced. That jab was solely intended for Bush, FEMA and our pathetic, inept federal government, not San Diegans. I commend all the communities of San Diego County for showing how it should be done -- that's something to be proud of. Rich white folks? That's definitely my home base of Orange County. I'm not rich but I will admit to checking the "caucasian" box every now and then.

I swaer, if the house was on fire, I'd run back into it to fetch my movie and music collection. Fuck that "things are replaceable" shit! Music + movies >>> my lyfe[}:)]

FUCK Allstate. Those fuckers screwed me out of 40 grand a few years ago. I wouldn't shed a single tear if all their offices burned to the ground.
