Ok, you're told you have to leave your house immediately. You can quickly run in and grab only three things.

What are they?

1) My kids (my son will have the computer in a death grip so I don't have to worry about that)
2) Said son's hockey bag ($2000 worth of equipment and he may have to play that night. God forbid he miss a game)
3) A piece of art work my youngest son did in 2nd grade. It's absolutely beautiful and hangs in my living room.

Wouldn't have to worry about pictures, between hubby's family and mine there's copies of everything.

Sounds silly, but that's it.

Fortunately, all my kids are old enough to get out without my help, so:
1. My computer
2. My iPod
3. My "tornado bag." When I lived in Texas, we'd have to make a mad dash a couple of times a year to my brother-in-law's storm cellar. I packed a big duffle bag with my grandmother's jewelry and some other things I could never replace. I don't have to dodge tornados anymore, but I've never unpacked that bag.

I had the pleasure of doing this when I lived in Oakland in 1991 and the East Bay fire swept through the city and destroyed over 3000 homes. Missed mine by a couple of blocks, partly because a large cemetery stood between my house and the fire - they just turned on the sprinklers.

When we left on a moment's notice this is what I took:
1. my journal
2. my top 20 most rare New Wave LP's (but of course)
3. the neighborhood cat
