WLIR Non-conformal Ball article from 1986

Postby DougMash » Thu Oct 25, 2007 2:14 am

Last night, I went to see New Pornographers (who were amazing) at Webster Hall, NYC. I was telling the people I was with all my great stories about the "old" Ritz (here's where I spilled my drink on Dee Dee Ramone, etc.), and remembered reading an article about the 1986 WLIR Non-conformal Ball. I'm not sure if the link was here, or on WLIR's tribute site, but I can't find it on Google.

Any help would be appreciated. It was the one with Lou Reed and Hoodoo Gurus (and a damp Dee Dee Ramone in the audience).

I was at that one, Doug.Wild night! Imagine my suprise when I got plowed out of the way by Jimmie Page's bodyguard at a WLIR event.I wish I hadn't had so many drinks so that I could remember more!I recall saying hi to Joey Ramone as he walked by...and Fred & Kate from the B52's. I remember Lou Reed did a short set & played "Suzanne". The Hoodoo Guru's were great too.

Try this link it's all I could find....
