Ever find yourself in a real-lfe 'video'?

I am just trippin out right now. I'm on the coast train from Boston to CT. The fall foliage is still out, the sun is setting gorgeously, and the trees are whipping by interupted only by postcard-perfect coast scapes. Goldfrapp's "Lovely Head" comes on the iPod, and for about 4 mintes I am in a complete trance with a shit-eatin grin on my face, in almost disbelief at the spectaular, almost surreal scene. It feels ucannily like a video. Completely mind-blown right now.

Ever get this? I swear I haven't just burned one. [:I]

Okay at first I thought maybe you had managed to superimpose yourself into the "Send Me an Angel" video but after reading your post, it appears that Michel Gondry directed it instead like "Star Guitar" by the Chemical Brothers below! [8D]

I had some moments like yours on my road trip last month -- very cool ... gave me goosebumps a couple times.

Exactly...freakin' goosebumps! And pretty trippy Mike - I've specifically put on "Star Guitar" on some of my train rides. Absolutely one of the best, um, train tracks. Chicane's "Offshore" is another perfect one. Funny though that the studio vid for Star Guitar isn't even my favorite one. The one that's cross-mixed with "Temptation" at Fujifest is one of the most epic concert videos of all time IMHO (on their Singles 93-03 DVD):

PS. Ben...sadly, no iPhone yet...crummy hockey puck of a Blackberry.

Totally. I often get that feeling on train rides and road trips myself. Most of all, I get that feeling driving in and out of the Manhattan. I had Junior Boys' So This Is Goodbye album on yesterday in the car, shooting out of the Midtown Tunnel. Fookin' brilliant. I'm like you Blir in that it has to be the right meditative, trance-like jam to get me in the right head space.

Yup Yup!
When I take day or night trips into SF, I always make sure I have the appropriate music for the drive over the Golden Gate.
