Stay (The Second Time Around) [Solved]

The more I read the descriptions of this band it seems highly unlikely it's them. "An ELP ripoff" with "complex harmonies".

I did a Dagaband search and found this site:
http://www.nickmay.co.uk
http://www.nickmay.co.uk/News.htm

he has a Dagaband page - "Under Construction" but also an email link, so I emailed Nick and asked him to confirm if Dagaband sang the song on the Youtube link -- I'll let you know if I hear anything.

He's in a band called Whimwise -- it's possible that 20+ years later this is the same influence, haven't heard any vocals though.

It's not Dagaband. I emailed that guy a while ago & he said it wasn't him/them. I guess I never posted it.

He responded to me and actually sent me an mp3 of the Dagaband song. Not even close.

For the record, this is now the second song that has been "positively identified" as the song by someone outside of this website. The first one was Second Time Around by Ghost. Strange!

Hi guys. I had a chance to listen to this mystery song (finally). it's "Heartbeat" by White & Torch. See the below link for some info on them. I do have the song in one of my collections. When I find it, I will post it for you.

It's amazing it went unsolved for this long. I know a few people who have material by this group. Thanks Danielwaver. [:)]

Not that I didn't trust you Danielwaver but there were so many "confirmations" before, I had to check it out for myself. As it turns out, Roy White of White and Torch confirmed to me through myspace ( I knew myspace would serve a purpose one of these days) that it is his band.

You should all check out his current band The Truemen (http://www.myspace.com/thetruemen). It's really good.

Many thanks to Roy and I'm thinking Danielwaver deserves some sort of virtual shrine at new wave outpost!

Kudos to Danielwaver for finally putting an end to this. I'm wondering if you would have also known the Eskimos & Egypt song that haunted the CFNY site for a couple of years.

Holy Cow, if Danielwaver doesn't win "NWO Member of the Year" there needs to be a recount. He solves the longest running mystery on the site in addition to posting rare songs, no requests, etc.

Congrats DW!!!

Does this mean you're recanting your earlier nomination of SMoKaLoTaPoT?
