Quiet Riot's Kevin DuBrow passed away today

To think I was listening to my roller derby mix that had tons of QR songs on it. Now the vocalist hath passed away.

I remember listening to Condition Critical as a child.

Never owned any of their albums but they did have some cool vids back in the day. "Bang your head, metal health will drive you mad". RIP.

I grew up listening to QR's Cum On Feel The Noize. A mainstream rock song IMO. Also a modest hit here. I thought they are a KISS wannabe.

RIP Kevin.

QR would have been absolutely huge if only they had covered "Run Runaway" on QR III. Here's to the road not taken, Kevin.

Kevin was a class act. Very cool to the common fan. This sucks.

I had the chance to see the original band, with Randy Rhodes.

According to the fark thread about his passing away, he used to be the most hated man in heavy metal. Then later on he turned his act around, talking to fans, giving backstage passes, etc.

I saw the cause of death was an accidental cocaine overdose. Ironically Quiet Riot's last studio cd in 2006 was named Rehab.

As opposed to intentional cocaine overdose? :) I'm surprised this happened to him now, instead of 24+ years ago(ie QR's prime)
