Many thousands of congrats from me to you, Retro! Your home looks positively palatial! Well done as that's a huge sign of how hard you've worked to earn you one of those. I applaud you.

To club80 and Max Murdoc: Guess what I got me today? It turned out to be a combination Christmas/birthday gift, and I am so very happy to finally be able to claim that book for my own.

Also today (along the same Christmas/birthday vein), I purchased some CDs I'd been meaning to get as long-overdue upgrades from cassette -- Antics In The Forbidden Zone, the newer Smiths best-of (Singles), and The Luxury Gap. I wasn't going to get the first one because I already own Kings Of The Wild Frontier on CD (got it several years ago) but then I realized that hey, I actually want those other tracks on CD too.

Well done, Dee! Enjoy lurking through the pages of the book!

Retro...nice house! Buying myself a new one in about two years. I have one on Long Island but we're thinking of moving up near Cooperstown.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

I got a bag of rock.

Wait - I'm not Charlie Brown and your not talking about Halloween.

I didn't get anything for myself because I decided to give my wife what she wanted for the kitchen - new cabinets and counters.

Plus all the stuff for the kids.

I'm not into receiving gifts. I'd much rather spend that money on my family.

Thanx all..
It definitely was a hard won acquisition that came with much sacrifice..
Sadly, one of my longtime feline family members (14 y/o) fell victim to a passing car this morning and my two oldest children had to bear witness to the aftermath. A very sad and anathemic day for all of us indeed.

Turns out our church pastor was slated to come and bless the house today (which he did) after ministering to our kitty's burial in the back yard.

Sorry about the kitty. [:(]

Mr. Hex and I went easy on the Xmas gifts because we treated ourselves to a pair of these earlier in the year:

Ah, recliners that don't look like recliners . . . Of course, now that we have those we realize we need a new TV, which means a new TV cabinet . . .

But, I did get the X-Files boxed set--all 9 seasons!

Thanx again to all for your kind words.
Hopefully in these waning hours of 2007 we can put this and other sad events behind us and ring in 2008 [:)]
