Congrats to Sweden winning the first semi-final over Russia, 2-1 in OT.

Canada vs. US is to start shortly. For americans, NHL network is carrying the feed. TSN in Canada.

Bronze and Gold medal games go tomorrow.

Go Canada! [:)]

Bronze? Who cares, we lost.

Reminds me of the mens 4 X 100 metre relay at the Atlanta games when Canada shocked the heavily favoured Americans by taking the gold. Donovan Bailey ran an amazing 8.65 seconds on the last 100 metres.

When they interviewed Michael Johnson (the fastest man?) he said "we didn't lose, we won the silver".

That's my favourite quote ever. No, mofo, you lost!

Canada finally woke up. This was the best game they played all tourney. They will face Sweden for Gold, gunning for their fourth straight Gold. Canada will also want to beat Sweden, seeing as Sweden snapped Canada's 20 game win streak, during round robin play, going back to the '04 tourney.

Go Canada!! [:)]

Not sure what kind of a mood the other two teams will be in, playing for Bronze, but that will feature Russia vs the US.

Honestly, I don't find the World Juniors to be very interesting. 15 years ago, we used to get our ass kicked all the time, and now the opposite is true. Somewhere in between would be nice for a change.

Bronze game prediction - game played by 2 disinterested teams, won by Russia, 5-2.

Gold medal game - 4-2 Canada, along with the obligatory gushing by the play-by-play crew.

Do you not want to take Pierre Maguire's head and smash it throught the glass? Wish I could reach through the t.v. and do it. Nobody ruins a game more than him.

You've identified that I'm not his biggest fan. Does he still overuse that term?

That and the other big one...monster. His oustanding ability to state the obvious and also his ability to read everyone in the arena's mind is what I can't stand.

Maguire flash:

Some of the things Canada will need to do to be successful today:

1. Play a full 60 minutes...(no shit Sherlock!)
2. Listen to the coach...(how insightful, that would definitely help Pierre)
3. Stick to the gameplan...(contrary to the school of thought that many a championship has been won by "winging it")

If it weren't so sad, it would be funny.
