That's what the band is called without Paul Weller. Might be worth a see. Might not. Dunno...

So Hugh Cornwell has teamed up with Bruce Foxton and Rick Butler for a tour.
Hugh Cornwell as Paul Weller? Hmmmm.....The Stranglers / The Jam.

Maybe they should call themselves "The Janglers" or "The Stram".

Cool Max. I didn't realize it was Huge Cornwell with them. That actually might be palatable. When I saw just him in an acoustic set, it wasn't all that interesting, but you could tell he had some vocal chops at least.

Oops....House of Blues is a little misleading in their description. "From the Jam featuring Hugh Cornwell". I thought it meant that Hugh was included in the band like "The New Cars featuring Todd Rundgren".

Not the only mistake I've made this year.

That is pretty misleading. And even worse, if Cornwell is putting on his solo acoustic act, then...snooooooooooooozzzze.

They'd have more credibility to me, if they just called themselves something completely different and said featuring former members of the Jam.

How about...

"From The Jam But Not The Whole Jam: featuring former members of the Jam but neither Paul Weller nor that cunt from the Stranglers"

I've heard they are good without Paul, but it just don't seem right, like The Clash without Mick Jones, etc.

Here are friends of mine from MySpace, a Jam tribute band, they call themselves: The Jamm

Enjoy!

Weller was invited to join the show, but he was just so busy being Paul Weller. If this gig were closer to home I'd go!

I wouldn't mind a report 'cause I'm in SF on the 29th and may go if it's even remotely decent.
