Allan Melvin Dead

We were just talking about this guy the other day at work and all the different characters he played on The Andy Grifith Show. He was also the voice of Magilla Gorilla and was Barney Hefner on All in the Family and Sgt. Hacker on Gomer Pyle USMC. RIP [:(]

I did discover while searching these pics that Cousin Oliver (Robbie Rist) is alive and doing well

Melvin did a lot of work in the 60's into the early 70's tv. I saw a piece on tv featuring Robbie Rist, he turned into a strange ugly dude.

And, as you will no doubt remember from the top picture, he played Sam the butcher, the man whose meat Alice craved on The Brady Bunch.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

He was the Cold Cut Cassanova!
I always thought he could do better than Alice.

His kielbasa was legendary among the domestics in the Westdale area at the time.

Maureen McCormick (Marcia), in her biography, claims that her and jan were scissor sisters at least once.

No, Bob Holt died in the mid 80's of a heart attack. He also did the voice of Mogwai from the "Gremlins" (bright lights! Bright lights!)
