I have to say Depeche Mode. But they're not on the list. Otherwise the Cure. [:D]

How can the Cars not at least be on the list for consideration? I actually like the Knack better, but the Cars are kind of the embodiment of the new wave movement of late 70s, early 80s to me.

I think its common among filipino wavers to love the wild swans eh? but they're not popular abroad. [:D]

While I think Blondie is one of the top 5 NW bands of all time, they are more of a 70's band than an 80's band but their influence carried on through the 80's for sure.

Well, I have a ton of favorites that are not on the list but if I had to pick a band from that list that was the representative of the 80's I would go with the b52's Not my fav band but they were huge.
