Wouldn't this graph look better if it was plotted on a log scale instead of a linear scale? I mean, inflation and junk tends to skew things a little. Let's have a graph plotting GDP%![}:)]
Coop, what do you think of the talk to raise where a jumbo mortgage starts? Part of the same plan to make it easier to get into home ownership?

Although I'm hoping for this for my own personal benefit as a mortgage professional, and it will help a lot of well qualified people have more affordable payments, it is obviously shifting the risk to the government. They have become more restrictive in their already conservative guidelines so it would minimize the risk. It is really out of whack in my area, our maximum FHA loan limits is in the mid 200's and Conforming $417,000.

Consumers demanded less money down and less documentation and the credit markets foolishly agreed.....In my opinion, the current market conditions are a product of consumer greed (Hey- let's buy an investment property ...or let's take out all of our equity and buy those jet skis we always wanted!) and corporate greed (mortgage companies, REALTORS and Wall Street).[/quote]

CNN's unscientific poll states most folks will either "bank" their rebate or pay off bills/debt. Either way the banks win!
