Aerosmith released their self titled album in January of 1973. I've never been a fan, but "Dream On" is an undeniable classic AND it's kind of a trip how long ago this was. Allmusic on this guilty pleasure:

"But the early masterpiece is, of course, "Dream On," the first full-fledged power ballad. There was nothing quite like it in 1973, and it remains the blueprint for all power ballads since."

Guilty pleasure totally sums it up perfectly. I saw Steven Tyler in Greenwich Village once. He came out of a cigar store with a big fat stogie in his mouth, knelt down, had his kid jump on his back and off he hopped across the street. Just another day only in New York City...crazy.

I've always been a fan of their "Get Your Wings" Lp . It's one of those stand alone works a band puts out now and then.
