STUCK with Hillary? You can suck my nuts. Hillary is a strong woman who has proven herself and she should be leading our country! I voted for her and I hope she wins. She is a fighter, and I'm just TIRED of testosterone politics. Worse yet, I can't believe there is anyone who believes that demonizing illegal immigrants or gay people (like me) for "threatening" the institution of marriage is acceptable for anyone. What about lifting everyone up and bringing people together, using diplomacy before force? Republicans are a horrible, hateful breed of human being. I'm appalled that anyone thinks another Republican would bring us any good, especially after the last eight years of hell we've endured. And, no...let's not go back to the "Clinton years" they say. No, let's NOT go back to a balanced budget or economic surpluses, record low unemployment, and an unparalleled respect on the global scale. No, Republican is the way! Bite me.
Holy fuck, you're an idiot. Of course "demonizing" illegal immigrants makes sense. What fucking part of ILLEGAL don't you get? As for the gay thing ... my candidate (Ron Paul, the ONLY Republican I have EVER backed, btw) has basically the same position on gay marriage that your beloved Hilary does. Not all republicans are backwards assed morons, just the majority of them. Especially Romney, which is why I'm so glad he dropped out. Maybe take a class in reading comprehension and do some fucking research next time before you spout off, sweetheart. Until you do, how about we just stick to commenting on our respective areas of expertise? I'll stick to posting about politics, current events, and making our world a better place in which to live and you can comment on ... well, "nut-sucking".
1. I'm not an idiot. I'm Ivy League educated, and I actually worked in the first Clinton Administration. I don't feel like I need to prove my intelligence on a new wave board, particularly to a Republican!

2. Let me be clear: The act of "demonizing" a group of people has been done over time with many different groups from African Americans and gays to now UNDOCUMENTED people who live in our country. There was also a time that my sexual orientation/behavior was deemed illegal (i.e. read: sodomy) until all backward-ass state laws on sodomy were shot down by the Supreme Court. My point is that Republicans have chosen to make this group of people the new "boogie man," and it sickens me. This is the platform of YOUR party, regardless of who you support. It's been a platform of hatred and division for years now.

3. Don't ever call me sweetheart or I'll rip your nuts off! [;)]

Ivy League educated...yet you still blow the illegal/undocumented thing. Isn't that the first thing they teach you at "Nobody is Illegal" school?

Not that I care, but for such an "educated" individual, you sure went off on a high school level hissy fit over a differing opinion. It's a good thing you're of the mind that you need not prove your intellect to a Republican or for that matter anyone else here, as it would most likely be unsuccessful based on what you've cobbled together thus far.

I still don't think you're GETTING the point: What we term as "illegal" one decade may be seen as "legal" the next. So, to say that something is "illegal" and therefore objectively wrong is absurd because what constitutes legal behavior changes over time. I specifically referred to undocumented immigrants as "illegal" to blow that argument out of the water. Besides, the only people who seem SO upset about the immigration issue IS the Republican party. There always has to be a "boogey man." Last time it was gay marriage issue that brought out all of the hatred-based voters and kept Bush in office for another four years...

Isn't this the same rationale that the right wing cunts use to invalidate preemptive first strike, anti-torture laws, and the Constitution in general. What are you, the gay feminist democrat GW?

I see the point you're trying to make, I'm just not buying it.

Leave the future there...in the future. For the present, they ARE illegals. Simply put, they've gained access to the country by a means outside the current bounds of the law. Citing supposed future events is about the only route available to those attempting to redefine illegals as merely undocumented.

BTW: I find it highly doubtful that only Republicans feel the way you say they do about illegals. I bet there's a great many Democrats/Independents who also see illegals as something other than just "undocumented".

Seems to me Republicans are your "boogey man".

When were illegal aliens legal under US immigration laws? In this case, even France and The Netherlands, in all their liberal glory, hate foreigners - period (could you imagine if France was made to translate all their French documents for illegal aliens?). Here in the US, we just don't want a flood of uneducated, unskilled, poor people coming in to undermine the economies of the border states by driving down living wages, health care, education, bringing up crime and poverty, driving down house prices, and being an overall nuisance to the legal citizens and residents of the US (i.e., those would include black, white, latino, Asian, republicrats, liberal, right wing, gays, straight, et al.).

All you have to do is look at the numbers in red in the left hand column. Only an idiot would think that's a positive.

Illegal immigrants should be demonized. They hurt America by sabotaging the American work force and depressing the taxpayer's labor efforts. Huge majorities of both Democrats AND Republicans understand that this affects the entire economy in an adverse way.

Zogby Poll: Americans Fed Up w/Illegal Immigration
"According to the report, the greatest opponents of illegal immigration are Democrats, African-Americans, women and people with household income below $75,000, those with the most to lose in the job market."

Not that you ever need any help Motors - I was floored with the level of stupidity in the guy's opening salvo and had to comment. Apparently they'll let anybody into an Ivy League school these days.

Being in the constuction industry this issue is huge for me. It affects myself and my family directly. It's not just some story on the nightly news. With the constuction industry slowing having a level playing field is even more important. I know some illegals and for the most part they're hard working, good people, but fair is fair, they knew what they were doing when they ILLEGALLY came here.

You can build all the fences, walls, gun turrets you like and waste billions but the illegals will find a way around them. You need to go after those who are willing to hire them just as much if not more. That's the reality of the problem. I witness it all the time having lived and worked in the OC. It's the biggest piece of hypocritical horseshit there is here. It looks great on the front page and does wonders for your political ties to demonize illegals, but these are the same people who clean their mansions, care for their babies, do their landscaping and paint their yachts. Enforce harsher punishments on the businesses & individuals who hire them. If you hit them in their pocketbooks first, then you'll see a real change.
