The great Human League website Electronically Yours ( league-online.com/ ) led me to the Greek female synthpop duo Marsheaux recently, and I bought the just-released 2-disc CD set of their first two albums "E-Bay Queen" and "Peek A Boo". If you like early 80's synth/new wave (especially The Human League, Yazoo, Depeche Mode), you have to check these girls out! Both discs have been in my home and car CD player pretty much nonstop since I got them.

I'm glad many of you seem to like their music. I keep alternating between the two albums and it's to the point I'm learning the lyrics which doesn't happen real often for me, with new bands! They definitely have me waiting for whatever comes next......

highly recommended! splendid band, 'Peek A Boo' is the album I listened to the most so far this year! not one weak song on the whole albumm, personal fave would be the A Flock Of Seagulls-inspired 'Dream Of A Disco'!

I discovered Marsheaux about a year ago, and I was very impressed (in part because I'm such a big Ladytron fan). I put Peek-A-Boo on my Top 10 for the year with the following review:

06. Marsheaux "Peek-A-Boo" - These chicks from Athens (originally Thessaloniki) take a new twist on nu-electro...or is it old school new wave? I predict good things for them. Listen to "No Sense" (a la Visage) "What A Lovely Surprise" (a la Depeche Mode), "Dream of a Disco (a la A Flock of Seagulls) and the killer remake of New Order's "Regret." It may even be better than the original (dare I say).

oops ... i've totally missed this thread somehow ...

anyway ... i think that marsheaux are even better than client & very much on par with ladytron , which is why i've already did a lil' special about them almost a year ago in my "alien disco" radio show & on this sunday i'll do another special about marsheaux - this time with remixes that they did for other artists in the past few years ! [;)]
