Exactly!!! Isnt it amazing that ALL of those songs, have had the shelf life(popularity) today, that they had back then?

Plus, alot of those artists have released some good quality stuff throughout the years. Sorry it's not our fancy to enjoy the latest(and EXTREMELY SHITTY i MIGHT ADD) songs by the likes of:

Coheed and Cambria
Ashley Simpson
Good Charlotte and the like?

If I had a choice between the artists on that list, and the artists today? I'd take the artists on that list every day of the week and 3 times on Sun. Better quality music.

"Lists" like that piss me off, because it's not "cool" to listen to that stuff nowadays, you know? unless you're listening to some shitty new band, thats all the rage, you're not "cool". I guess that puts me in the "not cool" class? Like I give a flying F&*K! They're also written by folks who have no fucking clue as to what good music is usually. They dont listen to the music, they like to poke fun @ it.

Funny thing this list....I was a so-called jock in High School. And I tried desperately to avoid these bands...that lasted thru my Junior year in High School. I couldn't deny it anymore that I was a new waver/punk, outsider...whatever! But I did still play sports. I was the odd duck in school, I did get ridiculed from time to time, but they all payed for it during practice [B)]! Loves my sports, like I love my new wave. Call it "sissy boy" music, but you listen to it, everyone did or they wouldn't have picked you for it[:D]!

Thru the years I've dicovered that this music has staying power and a hell of a lot better than the music of today. Sorry but you can not re-invent the wheel. These songs can never grow old or should not be re-done. Kinda like my high school years...you live, you learn, you grow with no regrets.

Besides us "sissy boys" know how to dress[:p]!

Save A Prayer - Duran Duran (classic DD ballad)
Hold Me Now - The Thompson Twins (great slow dance song)
Blasphemous Rumours - Depeche Mode (cool, edgy at the time)
Tainted Love - Soft Cell (Classic!)
It's My Life - Talk Talk (Great, great song)
More Than This - Roxy Music (Very good song)
I Ran (So Far Away) - A Flock Of Seagulls (why is this song on the list???)
Perfect Way - Scritti Politti (Sounded great on my car stereo, not a big fan of the band though)
West End Girls - Pet Shop Boys (this song sounded amazing in the club or high end stereo back in the day)
Only You - Yaz - (great voice)
Love Plus One - Haircut 100 (Another great MTV hit)

But even though I'm not a fan of PSB, I consider this their least objectionable song and somebody lonnnnnggggg ago posted an early (demo, maybe) version of "West End Girls" that I wouldn't mind hearing again, if someone could post it.
