Great post Randy. I have the Boys life ep also , great stuff. I always liked O-positive,was a big New Models fan, but never cared for the Rings that much. Rash of Stabbings, now there's a band I completely forgot about.If I get motivated I'll have to add some stuff.

Thanks, Glok! And...not to quibble, as I HAVE been looking for this single, but this is the UK band The Rings, not the Boston one of "Let Me Go" fan (who I'm not ashamed to admit I was basically a groupie of).

Speaking of The Rings, does Randy by any chance have anything by Bamboo Gang? I always liked them... not sure if they released anything, though.

I do have the single that The Wicker Men did. Hope to get it up here at some point.

Unfortunately they are not the same band I looked at Coop’s blog and musician’s names don’t match up. Apparently this is another power pop band with a very similar name. This band Blind Date could be good too. I found them in NWO under this topic My favorite New Wave albums that nobody ever heard.

The Words were one of those bands that were around in the early 80's. These guys were in the same rock hunt as the Detectives and Schemers back in 82 so they really had no chance of winning. Here is their rock hunt entry "Dancing In My Mind"

MX were a 4 man band that had a decent sized local hit with Underground Radio which spawned an LP for them from Big Bubble Records. (Randy Hien and The Living Room for you local folks )

Also didn't do well in the '85 Rumble (though their songs blew O Positive's and Down Avenue's crap out of the water). "Turning Point" was the one I remember getting airplay, while "Wine & Roses" was my personal favorite. I also really dug the track that followed them on the album. "This Side of the Grave" I believe it is called.

Here are 2 tunes by the Angry Young Bees--was lucky enough to score this at the local vinyl den (closing it's doors this Sunday )--Luke said the single was in his shop one day before I snagged it.

I was also able to pick up another single from The Probers--this one from 1980. In my opinion-not one of their better tunes but you can decide on that.
