Josie Cotton resurfaces on the album, "Cinnamon Girl - Women Artists Cover Neil Young for Charity". Josie's version of "Cowgirl In the Sand" has her in fine voice.

The Hooters (remember them?) have a new release, "Time Stand Still". Features "I'm Alive", "Where the Wind May Blow" and a standout cover of "The Boys of Summer".

As a side note, isn't it interesting that Country music has moved so far towards Rock in the past 20 years that a band that used to be considered "New Wave" sounds like something you'd hear on CMT or on your local honky tonk's jukebox?

After seeing two-thirds of The Jam, I have to say "From The Jam" kicked some majot ass to start 2008 off with a blast of fresh pogoing! [:D]

I do have to say, their live sound is better than the recorded covers with Russ Hastings singing lead. Listen to the three posted songs.

The new, live OMD album, "Architecture and Morality and More", is out. Seemed rather uninspired to me. The majority of it is slow, sleepy stuff. I did download "Electricity" just for old time's sake.

Just because an 80's band put out an Album or played some shows/concert means they still kick ass(?)

Look at Duran duran, with there much hyped-up album last year. that was some major kicking in the ass. flip flops anyone??

I saw Human League live in Oslo just before X-mas. OneTwo (Claudia Brücken ex. Act/Propaganda and Paul Humphreys ex OMD)was the warm up. And yes, Anonymous, they still kick ass

Depeche Mode, Blondie, Stiff Little Fingers, The Addicts, the English beat, Bad Manners, and From The Jam, of course, seem to me to still be kicking Ass!!!

Anon: The DD concert _DID_ kick ass.. it was very very good. It was tighter with better sound and went longer than many concerts for 'current' bands I have seen. When you attend a DD concert on the current tour to form an educated opinion I will listen to your jibba-jabba ;-)
