Just saw DD on their Australian leg of the world tour.

Freaken fantastic!! Met them all at a meet and greet and hung out with the crew after the show at the bar.. the whole thing was excellent. The sound was wonderful and the performance was nice and tight.

heh heh,
my sister-in-law "ran into" the guys last year in NYC somewhere. She thought John and Simon definitely looked their partied-all-thru-the-80s-and-90s-ages. Nick looked amazing and had "flawless skin" (her words), nothing out of place on that guy. And Roger just looked simply hot, aging naturally, fit right into his age.
I kind of get that just from seeing pix of the guys.
So we eagerly (lol!) await your opinion, TM?!?

Hehe, they actually looked pretty good, all things considering.

John looks very old one minute, then he can turn his head and look 10 years younger... odd. John was the least talkative out of them all, but still great.

Simon actually isn't that bad. he's getting a little bit barrell shaped, but still has heaps of energy. Simon was his usual self. he started doing his vocal warmups during the meeting, which was interesting.

Roger was great. very down to earth nice guy. I had very similar clothes on to him, which caught his attention and he remarked upon it "we have a very similar look going on here don't we?" he advised. i think he though we should have discussed our attire before-hand hehe.

by far the nicest and most talky-talky was Nick. I was quite surpirsed. he was happy to talk about anything and spend as mucgh time as possible. My Wife and I chatted to him about things like Wine, the v-festival artists, the fact my wife is from the UK etc etc. He was great. He is hiding a beer-gut under his shirt though ;-)

Got some photo's with them all and a group shot.. got some photo's and our RCM tour program signed. In our travels we also met and chatted with Dom (guiatist) and Simon (sax) as well as Davey (security) and Oz (the keyboard and electro tech). We also did a backstage tour thanks to a friend in security at the v-festival (our second show, with the first being a full solo-gig).. we met Jeffrey who is their fashion guru. my wife was very happy he let her touch John's pants (wow huh?) :-| hhehe I got to watch the queens of the stone age get ready for their gig and check out the drum technician getting their kit ready (wow for me huh?! ;-)

In all we spent about 4 days as if we were on the road! stayign in hotels, watching bands, meeting people and artists, going to the DD shows etc.. was much much fun (but expensive).

KYYX4ever, yeah i knida get that from DD pics too. altho i feel Roger & John are the most haggard of the lot[:D]. Cant say the same thing for Andy cos i've never seen him shade-less since Astronaut but i bet he looked more or less like Gary Moore[;)]

TM, drool drool drool drool whoa mah man, what i would give to be in your shoes! heh heh. Somehow Nick & beer-gut doesnt gell that well LOL! Did u ask them when are they gonna do Arcadia II??

Thanks for the rundown, it almost felt like i waaass there hehehe.
Damn, im happy to hear u & your mrs had a great time. SUPER!

Im itching to see some photos of yours but its ok if u want to keep in confidential hahaha. cheers mate!![:D]

No.. I went to the Adelaide solo and the melbourne v-fest.

tell ya what.. there are some scary scary 'Duran-tards' about... the elbow woman was probably one of them! I saw some very sad and spooky behaviour from fans around DD... no wonder they hide themselves away!

..Generally they are ok.. specifically there are a few spookies ;-)

DD hide away.. yes. They'd get mobbed otherwise.. even still today! Even in a small city like Adelaide!
