Is it just me, or are more and more films not progressing in "chronologic" order? It seems many of the recent films I've seen start off at the "end" and then work their way through the movie with flashbacks. Not that I'm completely against this style of filmmaking, it just seems a bit repetative

To me the opening of the movie is the end of the film, after Jimmy crashes the Ace Face's (as played by Sting) G.S. Vespa scooter off the cliff to the rocks below...

Mulholland Drive - iirc, the first thing you see during the intro is a pillow rushing at the camera, which presumably is because the main character has just committed suicide. Arguably, the rest of the movie is fantasy generated by misfiring brain cells in the character's dying mind.

The first film that came immediately to mind was Shattered with Tom Berringer. Whatever happened to him? Is he still making movies?

Actually he never did. He only taught Hitchcock films. But it was up his alley.
