Randy,

By any chance do you have any Blackjacks? I only have "Dress In Black" from the Let's Breed comp. and always wanted to hear more. Supposedly, the version on the comp. is a different mix of "Dress In Black" than what's on the album ... any idea if that's true?

This is true.

I have an Aussie 45 of it, as well. I don't remember offhand which version of it that one was.

Anyone out there remember Boston's New Man? There big song around 85 or 86 on WBCN (And now sometimes on FNX's Left Over Lunch) was Bad Boys. I also remember a video for some other song they had on the local music video channel V-66. I've been trying to locate that cd for years now. Or at least Bad Boys on a Boston Rock compilation, but no dice. Anyone know where that song can be found (or can z-share)?

Does anyone remember The Nads, they played in Providence. One song of theirs on colege radio around 1980 was "Blame it on the Priests" Some other good stuff from around the same area was the Hi-Beams (Hyperactive and White People)and the Mundanes. Of course the Schemers. Had 45's of all these bands but they got taken out of a relatives cellar by a cleaning company while I was away in grad school. I have 2 awesome compilations from the Living Room, a great Prov night club that hosted tons of great new wave and punk bands. I need to figure out how to upload to ZzShare.

I posted a general message on Obscure 80's Central, but I may need to try 80's New England Bands for this one. From Boston, anyone have or remember the band "The Lines"? They did a cover of the Standell's Dirty Water. I've looked on Amazon, ITunes, etc, with no luck. I'm quite certain it's long out of print. Also from Boston, looking for the song Bad Boys from the band New Man. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Their cover of "Dirty Water" was kind of a dud, but I loved the title track of their first EP, "Standby," along with "On My Way Home" from the last album. "Will You Still Love Me When I've Lost My Mind." I think that was the name of it. Believe I'm one of the 3 people on earth who has that one on CD.

Much like Richard Nolan from Third Rail, Eric Hafner went through bandmates like toilet paper.

Here's one for everyone.......a lost gem from one of Boston's Finest. What You Got by Duke and the Drivers. I believe I covered myself before posting this. I went to both ITunes and Amazon, and the only version of this song that is available is the live version from the album Check Your Bucket. The original studio version is from the 1975 album Cruisin', which was not available on Itunes, and was posted as unavailable on Amazon. If I'm wrong, or if this version is available on some type of currently in print compilation, please let me know and I'll remove it.
