Ashes To Ashes (new wave soundtrack)

Postby bosten » Sat May 17, 2008 2:16 am

There is a really awesome new TV show on the BBC channel in England.
The show is called: Ashes To Ashes & is the sequel/follow-up to the
acclaimed British series "Life On Mars".
Both shows deal with time travel. What makes Ashes To Ashes so cool is that it really has an awesome "new wave" soundtrack in every episode that dates back to 1981 & beyond.
Usually playing the typical British music from 1978 til 1981,since the show takes place in 1981.
Ashes To Ashes is not yet available on BBC America, but will be soon.
If you were a fan of "Life On Mars",you have to see Ashes To Ashes,if not only for the music alone on each episode.
I've been lucky to get the episodes mailed to me from my sister-in-law who lives in Yorkshire.
Below is the link to "Ashes To Ashes".
http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/ashestoashes/

[edit] Soundtrack
The soundtrack features contemporary songs by British groups of the period such as punk period survivors The Clash and The Stranglers, New Romantics such as Duran Duran and Ultravox, synthpop such as Jon & Vangelis and OMD, as well as the later period Roxy Music and The Passions' sole hit single, "I'm in Love with a German Film Star", from 1981. A scene in the second episode, "The Happy Day", set at The Blitz features Steve Strange playing himself performing "Fade to Grey" by Visage.

A CD soundtrack from the show was released on March 17, 2008.[21]

I just watched "The Happy Day" episode again & Mr.Strange/Visage still rocked.
It was refreshing seeing all the "new romantics" in the club scene.

...and more importantly, do you have an affinity for the songwriting duo of Elton John & Bernie Taupin?

Pay attention to the topic,it's about: Ashes To Ashes.
Not Georgie.
Watch the clip cause it's pretty cool with all the "New Romantics"
& Steve Strange.

Spit, message board etiquette dictates that we turn the caps lock button off. It looks like you're shouting.
