Remove vocals from a song

Hi,

Can anyone help with this? I have a song I would like to reduce the vocals so I just have the instrumental track. If anyone can help or is willing to see what they can do, please let me know. I will greatly appreciate this. I can send you the mp3 file thru e-mail. If this can possibly be done, it doesn't have to be perfect

The software I have will at best reduce the volume of the vocals of a song. Depending on what the song is, and how it was mixed I might have some luck. The down side with any of the software I've used for this task is that it will also remove some of the musical content.

Feel free to send it to me if you want me to give it a try.

If you figure out a way to completely remove them, can you please let me know? I've got several Smiths records I've been wanting to do this to for years.

If you don't mind mono, you can try overlapping the L and R channels, and removing what is similar. The theory is that vocals are "in the middle", so it should exist on both L and R.

Or paste an inverse wave of R to L, and do the same with L to R.
