WIRE played a free show at South Street Seaport yesterday (Friday). And my friend didn't call to let me know.

Anyone here make it out? Reports were it was a great set! Bummer (for me). [:(]

A few comments about playing CBGBs 30 years ago.
Perfect weather for an outdoor concert, on a wide pier jutting into the East River, framed by the masts of tall ships, the Brooklyn Bridge behind the band, and the skyscrapers of lower Manhattan at your back.

They played a 70 minute set, which at times was FIERCE!
The only songs I recognized were 12XU and The Fifteenth.
Glad I finally got to see them (or at least 3/4 of the original members, Bruce Gilbert having left).
