I thought of this old poll when I saw this story today. Seems more people really ARE filling up with just a few gallons.

If McCain is our next president you can bet on at least $8 a gallon.
Which reminds me of something odd : The Chevron Convenienc store.....now you have to pay at the pump before filling your tank. Chevron took this to the extreme - late at night the "convenience" store is open but you can't go inside!!! You have to ask for your slurpee and bag of chips through a window, to protect the clerk!!!
Heh, it's been like that here in New York for years.
Same in Los Angeles, Santa Ana, San Diego, and most of SoCal[}:)]

I drive a shitload, so I fill up every 5 days or so at 47 bucks a pop[}:)] And here I thought our prez was genius enough to invade one of the richest oil countries so we get this stuff for free[}:)]
I will admit that I have gotten that cheapo gas once in a while. Is occasional use of that going to have a negative impact on your engine ? I put in a bottle of that STP Fuel additive every other fillup...does that help ? It's been a while since I filled up with that cheapo gasoline, but should I avoid it now forever ?

It's just not worth it.
... but I thought it didn't matter what "brand" you buy since some of these cheapo gas stations don't have their own refineries. They just buy it from an already-established gasoline company. I buy 87 unleaded from 76, Chevron, Shell, Citgo, and "Cheapo" - and they all give me the same mpg[}:)]

I laugh at your plight...I drop $75.00 every 3 days.

On a related note, it now seems that I as an employer am expected to subsidize both current staff and prospective hires because of the gas situation. Had 3 come to me in the past 2 weeks.

Hey, it's not my fault you decided to buy a Ford F350 dually (or similar vehicle)...what the hell were you thinking?

Ouch. I'd be hard pressed to come up with a less salable vehicle in today's economy, even in the U.S.

I can't tell from where I live. I see two humk-of-junks and an escharade parked outside. I think my stepfather drives one of them Ford trucks, but it's part of his job. He also has a smaller Nissan truck, which we used to laugh at... until now[}:)]
