Just got back from the 6/8 show @ the HOB(Vegas)....OMFG he was AWESOME. Every song was wonderful, he didn't do "All Night Long", but did alot of great stuff. He encored w/ Cuts You Up and a Bauhaus song(cant remember). He looked great, was really into it, and sounded wonderful as well. If anyone gets the chance to see him you should do so, you will not be disappointed. He also did "Deep Ocean, Vast Sea"(my second favorite), it sounded eerily like the record. He's so cool. Lots of babes in the crowd, and the crowd in general was very very cool. I was dead center front row, as I was the second in line @ 6:45(shows doors open @ 7:30). Trust me, I had a ball. His Guitar player was bad ass. The opening Act, some guy named Ali something or other, sucked. You may have to subject yourself to 30 minutes of crapola during his set, but well worth it for PM.[:D]

Also, spoke to his tour mamanger briefly about the rumor I kept hearing that this was his last tour for a bit? and he said" Where did you hear that?" I said" just around" he said "Dont believe it. Peter has no intentions of retiring". I was ecstatic by that point.

The Tempe show last night was great. Small crowd, but loud, especially between encores. Pete's new 3-piece band rocks pretty hard, and I was really impressed with the guitar player. It sounded like Pete was using pre-taped vocal tracks for some of the songs, as I could hear him harmonizing with himself a lot (and it definitely wasn't a digital harmonizer). The organs and female vox in "Sweetest Drop" were present, too. It definitely helped fill out the sound. Peter's vocals sounded better than ever. Tickets were 'only' $28 at the door, a welcome relief from all the $50+ concerts these days.

I was really pleased with the set list, my only disappointment being the absence of any Love Hysteria songs (apparently he has played "All Night Long" at one other show, if not more). No big deal, I've heard that song live a few times in the past. It's notable that the Deep tracks all sounded amazing, nearly off-the-record. "Strange Kind of Love" was great - Peter played the 12-string, complemented by the lead guitarist, and the bass player would add the occasional low end, and mimicked the oboe part on the high frets - nice touch. I liked their choice of Bauhaus material, and was pleasantly surprised to hear "Huuvola" live..one of my favorites on Cascade.

Here is the set list as I remember it. The song order is close, but probably not exact.

The Line Between The Devil's Teeth
Disappearing
Burning From The Inside
Gliding Like A Whale
I'll Fall With Your Knife
Crystal Wrists
Black Stone Heart
Deep Ocean Vast Sea
The Sweetest Drop
Endless Summer of the Damned
Huuvola
Idle Flow

Encore 1:
Strange Kind of Love
She's In Parties

Encore 2:
Cuts You Up

Definitely check him out if he comes to your town, it's a great show.

The New Orleans show was really awesome!! I'm not that religious but seeing Peter live is sorta spiritual to me. He was in great spirits and the young lads that make up the tour band are all very talented and they sounded very tight.

Here's the setlist:

Burning From The Inside
Disappearing
The Line Between The Devils Teeth
Gliding Like a Whale
Hurt - Yes NIN, this was really cool to hear live!
Strange Kind Of Love Acoustic with some of Bela Lugosi's Dead added in!! Too Cool!

Q & A from the audience for about 15 minutes which was very nice and entertaining. Peter made a remark about the New York expression "Fuckers" as in "you fuckers" not sure why but it was funny as hell.

Marlene Dietrich's Favorite Poem (my favorite Peter Song!)
I'll Fall With your Knife(one of my wife's favorites)
The Sweetest Drop
Black Stone Heart
Crystal Wrist, just amazing live!
Huuvola
Deep Ocean Vast Sea
Idle Flow

Encore 1
She's In Parties with Rider's In The Storm lyrics mixed in
Adrenaline

Encore 2
Cuts You Up
Transmission, Yes Joy Division!!! This was absolutely amazing!

Encore 3
Endless Summer Of The Damned

Hey pal, sounds like you got a great PM show too? him doing "Hurt" and Transmission"? too cool. I wouldve freaked out if he did "Transmission" in Vegas, as it's my favorite JD song ever. The Q &A thing also sounds very cool, and i wonder why he didnt do it more on other stops? nonetheless, I will definitely go see him again. I've really appreciated his music more and more since the 6/8 show.

Thanks for the review, it was wonderful.
