Stuff we did...Part 2 of 2

Part 2 (Part 1 was for fun, Part 2 was payback because of my ex)

This one was based on revenge (one of the various men my ex had slept with). I noticed that this individual was building a rather large 3 car garage on his property but I didn’t see the familiar green building permit. I called the proper city department posing as his neighbor and said that I had just got back from a lengthy trip and noticed that my neighbor had built a garage. I told them that I was concerned that the garage might be on my property and asked them to come out and check. The city determined that the garage was too close to the property line and would have to be moved plus he got fined for not having a building permit. The poor sap had to tear down most of the garage and rebuild to bring it up to code.

My ex was rather stupid and left incriminating evidence when I kicked her out. I found a bunch of photos of her and some other guy (vacation pics, she told me she was going with her friend Mary Lou). There was a phone number and name with the pictures so I called the guy the same night I threw her out and told him who I was and that she was going over to his house because I kicked her out. The guy panicked and said that she can’t come over because he was married and it would destroy his life. I told him that she was his problem now because I was finished with her. I could have left it at that but….well, I was pissed so I looked up his address in the phonebook and drove over there beeping the horn in front of his house. I was driving the car that she typically drove so he thought it was her. Hilarity ensued.

Part 2a (don’t mess with my kids)

And the final one…my son’s nose was broken by the neighborhood bully when he was 13. I took them to court to get them to pay for the realignment but his parents convinced his buddies to say that my son was the aggressor (we don’t start fights…but will finish them if warranted) so the judge threw it out. The bully outweighed my son by 40lbs. But that fact was ignored by the judge so I had to pay. Fast forward 6 years and I wrote some letters to the bully’s house (he still lived at home). These letters were a fictional account of the bully’s gay encounter and were signed by “Jimmi”. The idiot showed them around to his friends and family and word spread that the bully was actually gay (not that there is anything wrong with that). I never told anyone that I wrote the letters until now. My son came up to me a short while later and said that he had heard that “Mark” (the bully) was gay. (again, not there is anything wrong with that) “Mark” could have thrown them away and forgot about it but he didn’t so he brought the whole thing on himself. I just gave him the kindling….he fanned the flames and burned his ass.

I’m not proud of these and I wouldn’t recommend anyone do anything like this but revenge is sweet when your right. There, I feel better. Apologies to anyone who might have been affected by my actions but these people brought these situations upon themselves and at the time I felt that my actions were justified. So there…break it up, go back to what you were doing….there’s nothing to see here.

There's nothing quite like watching a well thought out plan come together. Revenge IS sweet. [:D]

My old landlord was a total dick. I lived in china town and there was no parking at all. He had a driveway, I kept opposite hours, so I offered to pay extra to park from 10 pm till 6 am. He said no and raised my rent. The same day my first child was born. He actually congratulated me and raised the rent in one sentence. The same day I started to look for a house. When I finally moved it was time for revenge. You see his driveway was illegal. He had cut the curb himself and even cut down the street sign. So I reported it to buildings and a few other places. He was fined a large sum of money. Then he had to pay the city to build a new curb and put up a new sign. He still parks in the street to this day and I laugh and laugh. Don't think I ever let anything go....cause I don't.

That's what I'm talking about...I'd rather extract revenge through non-violent means. The satisfaction is more enjoyable. You could break someones nose but it hurts more when you break their wallet.

Well, I never took any revenge in such exciting ways (because I am basically a pretty dull person).

But one time in college . . . Mike was a friend of my friends--he looked a lot like Ian McCulloch (sp) and we called him Mike Paisley because it was 1985-86 and everything he wore seemed to have paisley in it. He was a brilliant fuck-up, the kind of guy who has a 1600 SAT but flunks out of community college. We'd gone on a couple of AMAZING spur-of-the-moment dates, the kind where he'd unexpectedly drop by right after I got off work at the mall, we'd go to dinner, a midnight movie, talk and make out all night, take a bottle of champagne to the park and watch the sunrise, etc. But, whenever we made plans in advance, he'd stand me up. I put up with it for a bit because when we did get together we (I?) had such a great time.

Finally I got sick of it. I had a friend (the one who died recently) who had a seductive way with men, to make a long story short. She called him and asked for Mike, and after she'd chatted for a while she pretended to belatedly realize that she had the wrong number. But, he asked her out anyway. They made plans to meet at a bar. She and I and a bunch of our girlfriends went at the appointed time and sat in the back. We got a lot of amusement out of spying on him as he glanced at his watch, stared at the door, tapped his foot nervously--just as I'd done the times he flaked out on me. Our group said hello to him on our way out and he must have realized we'd seen the whole thing.

I still think of him fondly and wonder what he's up to. Even though as the saying goes he was probably "just not that into me" we did have a few great nights. But I did enjoy my small revenge.

Amazing and impressive, Max.

Good story, hex. I love that kind of stuff.

Ah, yes, college...

Shannon was the roommate of my girlfriend (now wife), and of my roommate's then-girlfriend. We all lived in the same apartment complex and went to the same school.

One night when I was out with the future Mrs. scramjet, Shannon locked her out of the apartment and wouldn't let her in. I'm not sure why. Shannon seemed to think this was funny. This turned out the be the best thing that ever happened to me, but that's another story.

We retaliated with some kind of mild practical joke. I don't remember what it was.

Shannon escalated the arms race by letting all the air out of all four of my car's tires. I had to call AAA to get them inflated.

I couldn't let this go unpunished.

Using Scotch Tape, a reasonably flattering picture of Shannon, a Macintosh computer (one of the early ones that had no hard drive), and a copy machine, we made a flyer. In large letters above Shannon's picture were the words, "Hey guys! Need a date? So do I!" Below the picture was a paragraph describing Shannon as cute, fun and best of all- available. Tear-off tabs at the bottom gave her phone number. We made about 30 of these and posted them all around campus, tearing off a few random tabs just for effect before pinning them up.

Shannon was mortified and humiliated. She accused us of compromising her safety by publicizing her personal information. The funniest thing was that several guys actually called her. Shannon never forgave us for this, but she didn't try to get us back either.

Brutal, philly! Did you talk to this person later - find out about the fallout?

Flyers are an awesome tool for the revenge minded. Many years ago when I was briefly living in Providence, my girlfriend and I were having trouble with our landlord ... we did try to resolve it reasonably, but the guy just didn't seem to care about our very legitimate concerns. He was basically just a piece of shit slumlord.

So I made up a flyer advertising very nice, newly remodeled apartments with all the amenities at a VERY reasonable rent and put his name and phone # as the contact info. At the bottom, I put in big letters "I Will NOT rent to niggers". Over the next couple of days, I ventured into the worst neighborhoods in Providence in the middle of the night and posted them everywhere I could think of.

It didn't exactly solve our problems, but I can only imagine the calls he got.

Man, I love revenge. I've pulled off dozens of sweet plans in my day. It's an art form. [:D]

Hmm, instead of the very mild revenge I described above for the guy who stood me up, I guess I could have BRANDED him: http://jezebel.com/tag/One-Night-Brands/
