A side note - some have mentioned before that iTunes shuffle algorithm, even when set to "random", is seemingly not so random. I have to say that after the 2nd time my iTunes library became damaged (warrants a topic all its own) and had to be reconstructed, the selection seems more random. When my library had extensive play count data, the shuffle function seemed to favor recency and high-play count tracks. This is just my own anecdotal observation but I'm curious to hear others' thoughts. There's a lot of debate out there. Here's one interesting article that seems to confirm something is amiss:

My preference setting for shuffle is on "random", of course.
