Ice Cream Containers

Postby randy » Fri Jun 27, 2008 10:40 am

Has anyone looked at how the sizes of Ice Cream keep shrinking in the supermarkets yet the price remains the same? From 2 quart containers--then 1.75 quarts--now Breyers has shrunk again to 1.5 quarts--how stupid do they think we are?????

Is that a rhetorical question?

Randy, bring a spoon with you when you go shopping, pick up 2 1.5 quart containers, put one in the shopping cart, and open the other & eat 1/3 of it. Problem solved. This is a weekly event when we shop, I swear people eat full meals there.

Oh...we've noticed. My wife's chief vice is a bowl of ice cream every night at 10pm. She noticed the downsized container immediately. I told her to be thankful that they didn't add a fuel surcharge to the purchase.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

I don't know why I'm laughing so hard at this! I've got the ol' hourglass shape going on--if they ever enact something like there here in the U.S. I hope they measure my little tiny waist and not my curvy "metabo" butt!

Heh. Last night a Blue Bell Ice cream commercial comes on stating that a half gallon is a half gallon, touting the virtues of their yet-shrunken containers.

Cereal boxes have also shrunk but the price is the same. My son gets 3 bowls out of a box (think Jethro from the Beverly Hillbillies).

Think like Jethro....hmmmm...a car is a car even if it's up on blocks.

Everything is smaller now in order to make more profit with the rising costs of fuel etc. I buy the same deodorant all the time. I have for most of my life. I reach for a new one and stick it under my arm. I just woke up so I was still in a fog but I knew something was just not right. For a minute I thought I grew into a giant. It was half the size of the old one.

Oh everything has shrunk except for Celine Dions giant nose and long melting face!Just have to keep beating a dead horse.
