<br>Clearly, cutting humor and sarcasm aren't among your strengths club80. May I suggest you continue to focus your efforts in the area of imagined grammatical errors, an endeavor in which you truly excel.

You may want to put a comma after the word "strengths". That's just a kind suggestion.

Perhaps you're right. I just didn't want to use up the supply as you seem fond of applying superfluous ones here and there.

Yes, I suppose the title of 'Grammarian' is an appropriate one, as I can only contribute telling questions of the more ignorant component of this board. I will say that while small, this group of louts serve to diminish what is otherwise a wonderful resource.

Since the ability to respond with words has deserted both of you, I'll offer a response that will no doubt appeal to your limited faculties:

As this discussion has strayed far from its original topic it is time for all participants to move on. If someone would like to start a new thread about the moral and ethical bounds of forums, please feel free to do so. This pissing contest has become quite borish.

I agree. I only continued pressing in the hope I could coax some remorse from people for the stupidity being posted. Sadly, that wasn't to be.

Yes but as long as Snob From Another Board is kept busy here with this meaningless dribble, it has less opportunity to go and infect other, more meaningful threads. Limiting SFABs influence and interaction on the rest of the board is the goal.

Consider this thread a misdirection, like when a magician holds up shiny objects to grab the attention of his unsuspecting audience. A small price to pay for containing SFABs attempts to use our board to impose all it believes is good and righteous in a fruitless attempt to affect change, make a difference and thereby grasp some crumbs of badly needed self esteem.

Damn right that wasn't going to be, because you've displayed a massive ignorance to how people tend behave in particular social settings. The issue isn't the specifics of your issues. I'm guessing the issue for most people is that here you are, a complete noob to the site, coming into a society (such as it is) to tell adults how things should be and if we don't see it your way, we're idiots and boors. Fuckinhell but this sounds eerily familiar to some of the most famous pariahs around here...but I digress. Snobbery is right Craig, not to mention ridiculously ignorant and self-obsessed cuntishness. Please fuck the fuck off.

djcraig: I believe you will find the correct term is 'meaningless drivel'. I thought I'd point that out before club80 gets to you.

Blir: I would have applied 'ignorant and self-obsessed' to the mob that lambasted both Ms. Dion and myself in this thread. Again, you seem to equate a person's post count with the worth of their opinion. A narrow view to be sure.

A mob of xenophobes, to be sure. You poor, persecuted troll. Of course we're all wrong. And the noob is right. Must be a common troll / pariah / self-absorbed / self-righteous sixteen-year-old trait [xx(] Like I said before, I guess it is kind of funny. Keep going ass-monkey [:D]

MFAB, what is your point in trying to turn the tide here at this well-established message board? Are you nothing more than perhaps a troll who would kill us with politeness whilst placing a mirror in front of us to expose our ugly, intolerant selves? As a newcomer, your unwillingness to leave things alone is indicative of some kind of ulterior motive well beyond discussing music. I asked you this very pointedly when you initially tried to register. You have also been very non-forthcoming about the other board(s) that you profess to moderate. Also, why a member of New Wave Zone at the same time? Can anyone here vouch for you posting music-related threads over there? So far, you haven't spent much time discussing music or even the 'mod' genre which supposedly completes the double entendre of your board moniker.

Not to worry, your IP address is strangely familiar to some other ones we've seen in the past. Would you care to elaborate because this is fast becoming another worthless put-on to the majority of us here which inevitably ends with your account being locked. I allowed you to join in good faith and so far you've only defended Celine Dion on a New Wave and '80s music message board.

Mike:

I began my first e-mail reply to you with 'Interesting response'. I think I'll use it again.

Interesting response.

To answer your many questions in order:

1. I'm not trying to turn the tide of anything. I offered a divergent opinion on the reviews of Ms. Dion's work. I was chastised and attacked for it, and defended my position as politely as I could. Granted, I have taken a couple of potshots back at some of the members, but only after provoked. Maybe you'd like to answer the question I've put to the board members who've participated in this sorry thread - What does a person's looks have to do with a commentary of their talent?

2. "Are you nothing more than perhaps a troll who would kill us with politeness whilst placing a mirror in front of us to expose our ugly, intolerant selves?" - I'm a person, not a troll. As for the mirror, that's an invention of yours Mike, and as such I feel no need to have to explain it other than to say that was never my intent.

3. In my e-mail I fully explained my past moderating duties, as well as the genesis of the username I've chosen. Are you now asking me to make public what I explained fully in that e-mail?

4. Yes, I'm also a member at another site, specifically the New Wave Zone. What of it? Other New Wave Outpost members regularly post there - the only difference between us is the length of membership time at the respective sites.

In the only music thread in which I participated I received the same abrupt, closed minded treatment I've gotten here. Is this a board for discussion, or merely a place to regurgitate the views of those that matter? Isn't a forum a place to exchange ideas and thoughts freely with others? Disagree all you want with the opinions of another member, but have some amount of respect for those views when they don't happen to mesh with yours.

I'll leave it to you Mike - I haven't been perfect, but I have been much more polite than the majority of the people I've interacted with here. I thought I was doing my part as a new member here by conducting myself in such a fashion.
