At least for one show, there's a confirmed opener. (Well, DJ opener, but still. Though they have some of their own electronic material.) From www.depeche-mode.com:

Black Light Odyssey is very proud to be opening the first LA show for Yaz as part of their 2008 Reconnected Tour, Tuesday at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles!

They'll be spinning from doors open to show time so come early,  have some drinks and enjoy an odyssey into 30 years of electronic dance music!

Nice to read further confirmation of possible future collaborations. Though much to her point about some of the songs being lyrically dated, I can't imagine them recording again now. Yaz's music had a place and time. We'll see. I hope they prove me wrong and knock it our of the park.

NYC pre-show meetup???

Location ideas?

T5 is sort of in no man's land. Maybe somethin on 9th Ave?

Beacon - trying to remember what's up there from my UWS days. There's that dive bar on the corner of 79th and Bwy. (Or is it 72nd?) Pretty sure it's not very new wave tho. [;)]

Any ideas?

What about LA meetups. Gonna be there for Thurs and Fri's shows. Not sure what's nearby at all.

As far as the NYC show goes, I am going on July 17th. I am coming in from PA. Not sure when I will get there. But, am up for some sort of pre-show meetup? Depending on the time. Anyone know if there is decent parking nearby or is it better to take a cab from midtown????

Near Terminal 5, there is parking along 57th for sure and probably along 56th. There are a lot of big clubs around there. But you might be better off parking a little further west. Say around 9th or 10th Aves. Don't go further cuz you'll get stuck in Midtown/Broadway Theater traffic. Though parking closer to 10th/11th might be a little cheaper than toward 9th.

Re: options for pre-show nearby - I'm open for suggestions. There's definitely stuff on 9th Ave. and along 57th around 9th/10th. Just blanking on what specifically.

For anyone going Saturday for the Beacon:

That bar I'm thinking of is on the Northeast corner of 72nd & Amsterdam, just a couple of blocks down. It's a total dive - an old man bar if ever there was one.

There's also options like Citrus Bar, Shark Bar, Sugar Bar, Time Out, and PJ O'Hurleys (maybe that's the old man bar?) when you search bars nearby on Google.

Anyone else have a recommendation near the Beacon?

OK
For the July 10 Orpheum show (LA) I suggest a pre-show meet-up here at 6:30 PM

schwenko or schwanko?! [;)] That place looks pretty swanky! Looks cool though. And not too far from the venue. Let me confirm with my buddy who I'm meeting there and will post/email.

Anyone need a single ticket for Wednesday, July 16 at Terminal 5? I have one extra.

Looking for face value only, might even eat the Ticketbastard fees.

Message me or email me windscreenfly at yahoo dot com.
