I've got all the Gary Myrick cds from his web site & they sound fine & they have all the original album art work.
I don't think they are cdr's,but if they are, they sound like store bought cds.

<br>All Gary Myrick & the Figures LPS are available on cd at his web site for a donation.

Roman Holliday "Cookin On The Roof" is still available at a budget price on cd.
The Myrick CDs are CD-Rs from what I've heard....and mastered from vinyl....but I cannot guarantee that.

The Roman Holliday CD that is available is japanese only. It does have one or two tracks over the original domestic release if my memory serves correct...but perhaps they can fit both albums on one disc and make available for a cheaper price...

Great timing on your list Spaz. The Sony/BMG list includes a bunch that I have recently added to my want list, including:

- The Hitmen
- Jo Jo Zepp
- Gary Myrick (Note: I would also love to see some tracks from the language" ep, including "The Message Is You").
- New Musik
- Robert Ellis Orall
- Sinceros
- Tommy Tutone

I would also have indluded the Dutch band Nits on cd (the 1979 or so album that includes "The Young Reporter"), but that was only a CBS import when it was briefly re-issued on cd, and I finally snagged a copy on ebay.

Regarding Gary Myrick, the donation requested on his website screams "unauthorized reissue" to me. As such, I would love a legit reissue!

Tommy Tutone's 1st 2 LPS are available as a 2 fer thru the Collectables/Golden Classics Edition & at times is readily available on ebay.
I think it's remastered too.<a href="http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk93/bostenman/?action=view¤t=tommytutone.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk93/bostenman/tommytutone.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

By the way, if they wanted to "re-release" The Plimsouls catalog, I wouldnt be upset at all, as all are wonderful discs. Big Plimsouls fan. if you sent Peter case an email(Like I have) asking about the possibility of them being re-released? we may just get some good news.[:D]

I'd love to know if there were some OOP extended mixes of some Plimsouls stuff that we havent heard/seen?

Whoa... that's quite an extensive -- and interesting -- display of album covers. Most of those bands/records I've never heard of.

They are NOT English language versions.

<br>WEA: Peter Schilling "Error in the system" and "Things to come".

I'm amazed these are not available, and both would fit on 1 CD.

Who is this Bosten retard who feels the need to unnecessarily quote acres of text? This thread is unreadable.

Best of luck with these Spaz, a lot of great suggestions and anything is better than nothing!

This thread is a good example though of the difficulty with doing reissues in relation to demand. They are usually done as a labor of love and not for money making purposes. Many break even or make slight profits but they typically lack the marketing budgets necessary. Look how many people here (supposed 80's music freaks and THE target audience) had suggestions for stuff that is already easily available! And you guys are fans! Imagine the difficulty to get Joe Casual Consumer to spend any amount of time looking for a CD from a band that is a) long-since forgotten or b) they hear on their regular 80's radio station daily.
Compound that with groups that got only regional or light airplay and it's a business model for disaster.

I know there are plenty of others but thankfully guys like Spaz and Rubellan have the passion to get some of these things done. But to question the viability of realistic demand and compare them to the likes of today's top groups is downright silly. Quality of the music never has been directly correlated with sales, much to the true music lovers chagrin.

My statistical analysis shows that quality is directly related to the number of myspace hits.
