Any suggestions for reissues?

Bosten, Spaz's list mentioned Tommy Tutone's "National Emotion" (1983); that's the one that hasn't been reissued as far as I know. I do have the the 2-for-1 cd.

BTW, I had forgotten about Propaganda. Were they power pop?

yes, Hawks' two albums....didn't do the Person To Person cuz it was import only. Didn't do The Proof cuz it was on Nemperor on the guy who ran that label doesn't respond to requests for reissues even though Sony was the parent company. So, more than likely no Steve Forbert 3rd and 4th albums, no Four out of Five Doctors, etc.

The rest are on the next list I submit. Want to see how the first list goes...

Ah shucks! 4 Out Of 5 Doctors would have made a really good 2-fer. I have a few suggestions but it looks like I missed the cut off date for the first list of suggestions. Good luck!

Thanks Spaz for asking/doing this for us. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Hooters/Outfield reissues. Love both bands, and it'd be nice to have these with some bonus tracks.

The dude behind the project already 'remastered' it a few years ago, and has been selling it via his website.

Not so popular in the US, but they were big in Canada:

Agreed totally. If you're going to "re-issue" stuff, why not make them of some of the best albums? A-Ha's first 2 and Alphaville's stuff is wonderful, and in sire need of reissuing, maybe Spaz can add these 2 names to his list as well?

Someone suggested it earlier, but the "Hawks" debut from 1981 and follow-up "30 Seconds Over Otho" are criminally unissued.
Others I would suggest include:
Both of the Laughing Dogs albums (self-titled and "Meet Their Makers"),
Both 4 out of 5 Doctors albums (self-titled and "Second Opinion")
Elektrics: "Current Events" and "State of Shock"
The Producers debut and "You Make the Heat"

We must have listened to the same albums! Those are definitely on my tops list. I knew very few folks who listened to all of these bands, too. Maybe a few out of this list but not all of them! Good to hear that someone else followed these bands...

The Producers 2fer was issued on CD but is now long out of print. There's no plans to do it again.


I did suggest the Hawks and Laughing Dogs two-fers.

The Four Out Of Five Doctors albums are in 'limbo' because the guy who ran Nemperor has so far refused to release anything else from his label in the past few years. Even the 3rd and 4th Steve Forbert albums are lost...until the guy sez 'yes'!

I don't know any labels who have a good enough relationship with EMI to release the two Elektrics albums (or the 2 Scooters albums for that matter). I know that they are better than Universal is with their back catalog but I don't know anyone who'd be brave enough to give those albums a chance. I wish that labels would just let the band members do it themselves....
