Here's another bit of Saturday Night Dance Party bliss live from the Malibu. This is a two disc set:

I always wished I taped more of these. Thing is, I was just never home to hit the record button on a Saturday night. I always figured I'd do it next week, next week.....
Okay folks, problem: I have 36 separate files here and the various services either do not allow more than 1 or several uploads at any one time, each with its *own* URL, or they allow all of my files, but have a file size limit that the combined files are way past.

I was thinking about running this through Aladdin's Stuffit to create a single, archived file that you can unstuff if you have the same software. I believe the Unstuffit app is a free download, available for the Mac, Windows and I believe the Linux OS's. Googling it will give you multiple places from which to grab it.

Will this help or does someone else have a more efficient idea?

That is the problem I have with the tapes I have converted. Each song/segment is a different file. If anyone knows how to convert the mp3's into one continuous file, I would love to know so I can post them.

Okay folks, here we go...

For those interested in Motnow's first WLIR 1983 01 digitized tape being broken up into separate MP3 tracks, go here:

http://rapidshare.de/files/39961901/WLI ... s.zip.html

I hope you will be able to decompress the file. If not, and since only 1 or 2 people expressed interest, I could snail-mail out a data CD with these and other MP3s I create from other tape mixes I break up in the future (don't wanna waste a CD on 95MB). Of course that means you'd have to wait, but then you'd get around 7 "tapes" on one CD.

Let me know what y'all think.

Damnit!!! 'Don't say that's just for white boys'! I haven't heard that song in freaking in ages! The first time I ever heard it was on LIR (naturally). Lord, I miss that station so much. But thanks so much for sharing! [:D]

Wormster, I "tweaked" your file for more consistent levels. It is not a problem for me to do it....just crank 'em out !

You have to delete that period at the end of the address. I'll fix that.
Thanks motnow.

Can anyone identify the song on the WLIR 1983 01 tape that comes after Elvis Costello and the Scuba diving joke? It is at about 22 minutes into the tape and the women is singing "All we have is prominence" Madness, "Our House" follows the song.
I'm afraid I can't identify the song. Sorry...I just downloaded it at work. I've been so busy the last few days that I didn't have a chance to listen...but wow...look at what all you awesome folks did lately! I will be downloading tonight!

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.
