Looks like we're meeting up there before the show. Spoke with glok tonight. And happily I had a ticket that I wasn't using so thank you in advance for buying it from me. [:D]

Doubt I'll be hanging out after the show. (Will still be on NYC time so I'm sure I'll be exhausted.) But happy to hang for a few drinks before the show.

F€cking amazing. I just saw Yaz live. Something even until they hit the stage I never thought I'd do.

Great meeting glokstadt and schwenko before the show. Good times and was glad to help a fellow NWOer with a ticket [:)]

More when I'm coherent.

schwenko or schwanko?! [;)] That place looks pretty swanky! Looks cool though. And not too far from the venue. Let me confirm with my buddy who I'm meeting there and will post/email.

Well we don't know what you look like, and you don't know what we look like, and we ended up meeting in front of the Broadway Bar that is attached to the theatre, as I showed Schwenko Clifton's Cafeteria on Broadway and 7th Street, 2 blocks from The Orpheum... FYI, we had e-mailed each other and exchanged cell numbers...

I know what you mean about the nice opera boxes on the wings of the theatre, I wonder how much thos tix were? $$$?

Exactly ebbhead, fucking amazing show!!! Alison Moyet's voice was brilliant, and Vince Clarke a one-man synth army! My voice is horse from all the yelling and shout singing. The crowd was wild!!!

Yazoo put on one rockin' show! Chicago and New York dates left to catch them. This is/was a once-in-a-lifetime concert--if they don't end up recording a new album in the studio and touring again that is, and it was fun to share with fellow NWO-ers: Schwenko (who I took to a few records stores on Melrose Avenue earlier in the day) and ebbhead, both from New York! Yet to meet any local LA NWO-ers...(insert XXX-er here) [?]

The guys sitting right in front of me shot off video cellphones all night long:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nGSM3LulsTM&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The rest of the US tour dates are here: http://www.yazooinfo.com/

Again, what a blast! Waited 25 years for this! [:D]

THE SYNTHPOP CONCERT OF THE PAST 2 1/2 DECADES!!!!

Great venue!! Allison Moyet looked so adorable; her hair was longish, light brown, and she had a constant smile (even when she flubbed Don't Go[:0]). Dancing, dancing,dancing...
Probably the most enthusiastic audience I've ever heard; they ROARED when Yazoo opened with Nobody's Diary. Continued cheering throughout the songs, singing along, even with the non-hits.
Vince added a few vocals via vocoder, otherwise just punched a few buttons on the laptop.
Only complaint; no Other Side of Love, but 20+ songs, including Only You and Situation for an encore.
I'm sure there are clips on YouTube.
Nice to meet Ebbhead and friend, and muchas gracias to tourguide Glokstadt.
I'm off to NYC for T5 and the Beacon next week.
Peeps- you are in for a treat!

Thanks for the effusive reviews guys - it's getting me jacked up! Kudos on getting together too. Looks like we're doing pretty well with the NWO get-togethers - several small ones over the past few years, and as yet, no reports of anyone being knocked off, chopped up, and eaten for dinner with fava beans by some internet freak.

Hoping for a repeat of the excitement in NYC next week. DJWave and I have been chatting about it. Drop me a note through the forum emailer if interested. We should get serious about coordination (I may have missed posts while I was away all last week).

Cheers!

It was all Yazoo! No solo stuff... she'll come back for that as Alison stated she had not been in the States since 1994, and it has been too long...

While going to my car I saw the LA que to meet them and people had stuff for them to sign at the back enterance/alley--just one security guard, older, totally takable with some yellow plastic guard pieces, no big deal! [}:)][;)]

<p align="justify">Security was so lax there. We weren't patted down or anythin'[}:)] Then, the girl I was with commented on how many happy people were there hahah. She also had no clue about the band until near the end of the set when they performed "Don't Go" and "Situation" at the encore. Ms. Moyet has not lost it. Crowd was energetic. This was 1982 all over again!

What was the song that Alf walked off the stage, while the music continued, with the visuals of blooming flowers, tree leaves etc?
And what was the song with the reel-to-reel tape recorder played?

The Reel-to-Reel tune was from Upstair's At Erics, "I Before E, Except After C."

The other tune I'll have to think about, I remember the images... Vince finished the song off... Hmmmmm...
