OK count us in for Jakes for (3)...can we get a reservation for 5-5:30.

Schwenko...they have bunny food on the menu!! [^]

This is why we bring DJ Ed he is pretty tall, we just push him thru and tag behind! [:D]
But if we get in soon as the door opens...we should get a good spot.
Can't be any worse than The Beat, Grotto or The Bat Cave.

I was supposed to ask about reservations, wasn't I? Got there kinda late yesterday and immediately started drinking, so...

It's not that big, so a big table for like 15 is gonna be tough. But I guess we'll see. I have a funeral to attend this morning, so if anyone wants to call, I think the link is above. Jake's Saloon, 57th & 10th.

I'll check on Jakes reservations for 5pm given ebbhead's comments about the show. Jeez, who are they catering to, old people?! [:o)]

I've got everyone's cell and will text out to the NWO Yazoo D-List. [8D]

BTW, anyone remember that this will be the second concert together with me, ebbhead, and cubby...though we never even actually met up for the last one!

AH YES!! Gang of Four in Philly about 3 yrs ago. Though I think I was standing about 3 rows behind ebbhead and didn't know it. I even think he was wearing a New Order t-shirt. Hopefully we will finally all meet tonite. I am going to try and get there by 5 or 5:30. 3 hour drive for me and with traffic, who knows??? Will keep in touch. And geez, why such an early show??

Ahhh Gang of Four in Philly. I'll say that the crowd at Yaz couldn't be more different than the Go4 show! [:P]

Forgot to mention - they filmed last night's Yaz show, I believe for a future DVD. Good news!

Yes, they sure did film and I was right in front. Left side of the stage, right next to the handicap section. Is that politically correct? The wheel chair accessible section sounds more fitting. Anyway, the show was amazing and that was to be expected. I would like to add that Alison looks really good and I was very fortunate to meet her and Vince after the show. I was hoping this would happen and my dream came true. I got a picture with Alison and Vince and talked with them both for a few. Vince Clarke came out first and then Alison followed 5 minutes later. There were approximately 10 people waiting to meet them so it wasn't an overbearing crowd. The whole thing during the song "Only You" was neat, Alison commented that she had no idea where they came from and I chuckled. For those who may be going tonight, or on your way now, you will have to see what "they" may be. I hope everyone who was there last night had a good time and I like to think I saw some NWO'ers but I don't know what any of you look like. [:p]

Fun times, fun times...

Good meeting Blir and BigBri. Didn't meet cubby, but was in the same restaurant with him. Ha. And good seeing schwenko again. I literally crossed the street right after you called me after the show and you were gone. I think you guys were heading to Hiro for the after party. Hope it was good. I was so friggin exhausted, there was no way I was going to make it. Not to mention the thin ice I've been on with the wife from all the shows in 1 week.

Anyway, good time. T5 felt way more packed than on Wed. And toward the end, a little more vocal and crazy.

Great moment: Midnight begins, crowd erupts, loud singalong. Alison didn't even make it through the first verse. She stops and as they prepare to start over, she says (paraphrasing), "I appreciate your singing, but it was so loud I couldn't think where I was supposed to be in the song". Brilliant! We outsung her! (Looking forward to finding that on YouTube.)

Also, the red/pink hearts emerged right before Only You began again. And Alison said (again, paraphrasing), "I just want to announce, we have no idea what these pink hearts are about and we did not distribute them. I would love to know what they're about though." No reply from the crowd. Again, a brilliant thought from whoever arranged that one.

We got the house version of I Before E again last night, which I liked more than the night before. I was able to hear more of the vocal samples throughout, so that was cool. Plus, the folks around me burst into their best dance moves. Wonder if that was because of the venue's layout - more a bare club than the theaters they've otherwise played. Wonder which we'll get at the Beacon. (Hoping for version 1.)

Sorry - thursday night actually. Would love to see some pics. Left the camera behind, worrying about snags if they searched.

Indeed, a fantastic time last nite. Great to finally meet fellow NWOers Schwenko, Big Bri, and my BSP bro, Blir. Ebbhead, saw you but didn't get a chance to chat, oh well, next time maybe. And what can I say about the show that hasn't been said before, I think Blir put it perfect afterwards, "iconic". Actually, I was a little worried after hearing all the negative feedback about Terminal 5. It is very similar to a venue in Philly, the Electric Factory. Not bad sound wise either. People around us were going crazy, including a couple that had just flown in from Michigan for the show. Highlights were definitely Goodbye Seventies, Midnight (how great that we outsung Alison) and Only You complete with the touching tribute from the fans. And what a great way to top off the evening, when I got home, I opened up my mailbox and there was my copy of "In Your Room". AWESOME!!!!

Memories...you're talking about memories...

Absolute highlight...Too Pieces; freakin' incredible, killer vocals, thumping bass. [8D]

Alison's smile...filled the whole room; completely infectious.

Best drama...In Your Room; Alison on a couch with angst-ridden theatrics.

Most touching...Alison coming back from the encore to talk about how Vince long ago came to her about performaing this song he wrote, Only You.

Most raucous...the Situation finale; much dancing.

My location...about 8-9 people back, stage left on Alison's side! [:p]

The bathroom situation...mens room = packed; womens room = were there any women at the gig?? [;)]

Terminal 5...overly criticized; get into the austere industrial motif and you might just imagine bits of the Hacienda.

The sound...excellent imho; does it makes sense that the place has a great sound system but poor acoustics?

Internet strangers from the NWO...couldn't possibly be a more comfortable, cool, engaging and even normal crew. Cheers gang! [:X]
