I have a friend who has some 5 cassettes he taped from WLIR. Can anyone help me in getting them transferred to cd?

Someone posted a link to hardware/software that makes it super easy in the Vintage KROQ thread if that helps. However, are you looking for someone to convert them for you? If so, perhaps someone will help.

Thanks for the newest edition! I hear some Howard Stern when he was on K-Rock on this one. I do remember sometimes when listening to WLIR, the station would fade into 92.3 K-Rock.

This thread is the best thing that's happened to me since the birth of my children! I listened to 'LIR non-stop in the 80's, often thru static as we lived in CT. This drove everyone around me insane. I can't thank the posters enough for their generosity. This will be a killer weekend listening to all these tapes. Wahoo!
