Anyone else get the feeling the dude from Dateline is going to come crashing into the room any second? Holy Crap they're young.

Just to complete the experience, make sure you have plenty of Mike's Hard Lemonade, a pocket full of condoms and some lube.

In 1977 National Lampoon had an LP out called "That's Not Funny, That's Sick" - track # 9 is called "Gymnasty"
I found the track here (it's 1:08 long and sounds like it's cut off at the end, but that's actually the way it is on the record):
http://www.imeem.com/groups/d66Q3rU5/mu ... _gymnasty/

The whole LP is hilarious -- my brothers and I listened to it many many times growing up, and I hadn't listened to it in 20 years, so I did some searching on the interwebs trying to find some info about the album, hoping it would be on youtube, but it's not, however... I did find this link through Google cache: http://tinyurl.com/6f4wwd

Which leads to this link on the page:

Thanks, Dan ... it's good to see your long layoff hasn't affected the quality of your posts.

I can't even watch gymnastics. It's just not a sport in my mind. When the results are determined by some judges in the stands, many of whom have political/national bias, it just seems like a waste of time to watch. The results are not decided on the "field of play" by points or time elapsed or distance covered. Are the results somewhat predetermined?
Figure skating falls into the same category. My wife watches both, although she agrees with my opinion (except the part about it being a "waste of time to watch", obviously).

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

While we're on the topic, I enjoy the Olympics but can't watch all of the "sports". Some in my opinion are just stupid.

Synchronized diving, for instance. Are you kidding? So what happens if one of the divers has a seizure when they get in the water and starts drowning? Does the partner also have to start drowning so as not to lose valuable points?

And in the winter olympics, there's the biathlon. It's a combination of cross country skiing and shooting a rifle. I'm an American. We're never going to be good at this. Unless you're preparing to go to war with Switzerland, this is not a set of skills that, in combination, would seem worth anyone's trouble

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

So Dan, you have a link to a skit on kiddie porn? And you find it Funny? Its really disturbing that anyone finds it funny. Why am I not surprised you had the link?

A bit out of context don'cha think, Philly? From the looks of it, it's just a link to National Lampoon album from the '70s. Probably very un-PC but that was clearly the point.

I hear ya Mike, this was clearly me taking a jab at the guy. My point was it was not the first time the subject of kiddie stuff was brought up by him.

Yes, thanks Mike, that was the point.

1. The topic is "Watching Gymnastics"
2. Coop41 brought up the Dateline NBC reference.
3. I listened to the National Lampoon "That's Not Funny, That's Sick" LP (in the late 70's / early 80's -- some 20+ years ago).
4. There is a comedy sketch about "Watching Gymnastics" on the Comedy LP.

Have you ever watched and laughed at any of the following: Saturday Night Live, Animal House, Caddyshack, Stripes, Ghost Busters...?

Maybe you've heard of some of the writers and performers on the LP which include:
Bill Murray - Writer, Performer
Laraine Newman - Performer
Harold Ramis - Writer
Paul Schaffer - Conductor, String Arrangements, Vocal Arrangement
Richard Belzer- Writer, Performer
Brian Doyle-Murray - Writer, Performer, Creative Director
Doug Kenney - Writer (one of the Founders of National Lampoon, he co-wrote the screenplay for Animal House and wrote the screenplay for Caddyshack)
Christopher Guest - Writer, Performer

And Philly, I didn't "have the link" -- the original post by Coop41 reminded me of the Comedy Sketch, which I found the link through Google... I suppose you condemn Google for having the information?

And I'm not sure what "kiddie stuff" you are referring to. Most of the time when I post to the NWO, I'm finding something ridiculous that someone says and I chime in with my point of view, just like everyone does.

1st- coop never said anything wrong like he wanted to fuck the little girls doing gymnastics. He hinted there will be creeps watching these kids-thus the dateline man. Coop is a coach as am I. We work with kids and we watch out for these fucks that hang out in the park and sit by themselves watching our kids. There is nothing funny about that.

2nd- You Dan posted a skit that makes lite of fucking young girls. Yes it was SNL, so what. They did not post it here. Google did not post it here. You did.

3rd- Being a cat owner and not a parent, you may not realize that it is a very wrong subject and some people might not find it funny.

I made it clear that Coop's post just reminded me of the National Lampoon comedy sketch that I heard 20+ years ago. Jesus Christ, I can't believe how far your imagination reaches... Yes, it is from the people at SNL and National Lampoon, some of the funniest people on the planet, that ought to be a giant clue as to where the humor is coming from.

What does being a parent or not have anything to do with this discussion?... a person can empathize with a situation and not be in that situation. I have 4 nieces, so I guess that counts for nothing in your judgmental eyes.

Dammit, I had a killer modern rhythmic gymnastics joke liked up about the club and balls competition...but, uh...nevermind.

I blame this on coop. He'd made several comments before about how unusually young and supple my ass looked for a guy my age. I'm certainly proud of that and therefore didn't think anything of it at the time. But now this.

I'm a bit queasy. Queasy indeed.

I remember Coop saying how he liked the old Manchester United uniforms with the shorter shorts before they went new school with those longer shorts.
New school, my ass! Now I get it!
