Don't feel bad rewindmylife, I didn't do so well either. I came close to the average but even after seeing the answers, I wouldn't have gotten more then a handful of extra points with my "I should have known that" songs.

Long time no see Blir and one thing constant, I still suck at these :) but they are fun!

BTW I would it be possible to add numbers before the clips. I lost my place a couple of times. Adding to my suckatude.[:)]

Woo hoo - pretty sure I got the elusive #25 and should be above the average :-) Blir - you did a good job of keeping some of the more obvious artists still not a slam dunk to know the track. I had to do plenty of research to come up with my answers :-)

Any bonus points for naming who's in drag in #6, lol.

Thanks,
Ralph

Thanks for the Canadian content, Blir, otherwise I'd have zero!

I didn't realize Charlie Daniels was new wave, what's up with the cowboy clip?

I know that wasn't supposed to be funny but I can't help laughing! Altered Images? Really?

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

UPDATE POST

Going into the weekend, we have had 17 players who in combination have answered every song. The average sits at 36.3 points and raserx sits at the top of the heap by just hair and with plenty of headroom above him. I know there's some big score out there! Thanks for playing - would welcome more of you.

After a small delay, I just submitted my answer. I am curious to know what #22 is.

I'll be in. Too busy at work to look at the videos for more than a quick glance. Tough game.

My hat goes off to Blir for another challenging VNTT.
I hope he can do another one in the near future, or
maybe even sooner.

...and I haven't felt so alive, in years.

The results are in! Great participation...possibly the most ever. We had nearly 30 players. Thanks especially to all the old familiar players that came out of the woodwork like Jim2, cubby, BigBri, Jefe, brock, raserx, Warzau, etc - great to see ya. I think the YouTube format maybe makes this more inviting and easy. How weird that there wasn't even such a thing as YouTube when we started these games?!

Kudos to everyone who took part. I forgot how fun this was. The average score ended up being 43.1 points or a 57% guess rate. High score was 72 (one missed song!) and the low was 11 - quite the spread! All songs were answered, even what I thought was going to be that wicked tough Strange Advance track. Well done. The champions:

1st: abacab66 with 72 points, only missing #18, incredible if not unbelievably spectacular. All hail the champ!
2nd: wherewerein82 with 69 points, fantastic performance by the new and formidable contender.
3rd-T: schwenko with 60 points, showing the cagey vet still has it.
3rd-T: eighties with 60 points, another rock-solid showing, besting a certain familiar expert that you all may know...
HM: MikeP with 59 points, just off the podium, getting out-touched by a hair...but who's more consistently solid, huh?

The Songs List (all available on YouTube) and guess rates:

1 - Chameleons - Up the Down Escalator - 67% (yeah, the same dude that coop and I had a drink with!)
2 - Suburbs - Love Is the Law - 65%
3 - Missing Persons - Noticeable One - 47% (Walking in LA was the more common guess)
4 - B - Movie - Nowhere Girl Live - 88%
5 - The Church - Metropolis - 72%
6 - Bunnymen - Seven Seas - 71% (no, not Clare Grogan!)
7 - Sparks - Tips for Teens - 69%
8 - New Order - Sunrise - 58%
9 - Plimsouls - Oldest Story in the World - 24% (several guesses of The Waterboys...interesting)
10 - Soft Cell - What - 77%
11 - Yaz - Nobody's Diary - 90% (the highest guess rate on the tails of their recent gigs)
12 - Wire Train - I'll Do You - 42%
13 - Pete Shelley - Telephone Operator - 88%
14 - Magazine - Shot By Both Sides - 44% (clever twofer? yes? no?)
15 - Pat Wilson - Bop Girl - 42%
16 - Icicle Works - Understanding Jane - 45%
17 - Boys Don't Cry - I Wanna Be a Cowboy - 88%
18 - Dragon - Rain - 23% (a down-under classic that Spaz reminded me about a few years ago)
19 - Ultravox - The Thin Wall - 53%
20 - Simple Minds - Someone Somewhere in Summertime - 81%
21 - The Jam - All Around the World - 64%
22 - Wire - Map Ref 41N 93W - 19% (suppose it might have helped to be able to hear it)
23 - Spoons - Nova Heart - 62%
24 - November Group - Put Your Back To It - 27% (never heard them before MikeP sampled them...then he proceeds to miss this track!)
25 - Strange Advance - She Controls Me - 31% (frankly a pretty amazing guess rate...testament to the knowledge here)
