Unresolved cliffhangers

Postby randy » Fri May 19, 2006 9:25 am

Man do they suck!!!! Invasion being just the latest-which made me think-Whats the worst excrutiating unresolved TV cliffhanger of all?

My vote--and my vote could change when I'm reminded of other cliffhangers, goes to....Crime Story!! Loved that show--but hated it ending with most of the entire cast taking a nosedive in the ocean!!!! Damn you Ray Luca!!!!!![}:)]

American Dreams - cancelled as Meg rides off to California with her no good boyfriend. Then what? Then What???

Surface - cancelled as North Carolina submerges. What happened to everyone? What were those sea monsters up to? What the hell were the meteor showers about? What happened to the guys in the Russian sub? Was Miles turning into one of the monsters? Dammit!

Blir has the one that I hated seeing left hanging - Twin Peaks. The show finally gets out of the doldrums and has a cliffhanger with Cooper in limbo and his double back staring at the mirror -- Audrey blown up? And no resolution. I'd still like to get the second season on DVD, but it seems to be delayed, continually.

Other than Tiwn Peaks, I can't think of anything right now except for Reunion, whcih got cancelled around the new year. It wasn't a great show, but nevertheless I got hooked and then it got cancelled before we ever found out who murdered Sam.

And we'll never know. They never wrote or filmed the last few episodes of the show. I liked it too.

Here's what I found about Reunion from the Plain Dealer:

Due to low ratings, Reunion was canceled after only nine episodes (four more episodes had been ordered but were not aired), and the identity of the killer remained unrevealed in the aired episodes. During the Television Critics Assoication press tour, FOX Entertainment president Peter Ligouri addressed reporters regarding the show's abrupt end. Ligouri stated there were severals ways to go with the killer's identity. However, "the best guess was that particular time that it was going to be Sam's daughter," whom she gave up for adoption early in the series. The reason why the murder occurred still remains a mystery. There was some talk about changing the killer to Craig, but that was not developed.

Twin Peaks all the way. My fave show. Either:

1)Cooper's still trapped in the red room and his doppleganger is wreaking havoc all over Twin Peaks.

2)Cooper is posessed by Bob and wreaking havoc all over Twin Peaks.

15 years later and I'm STILL upset by this.
